To everyone on here: Italians are the original Latin people. They are Latin Mediterranean. Don't argue with facts. Latin America has more Italian ancestry than any North American country ever will. WASPS: white Anglo Saxon Protestants. Italian are 100% not that in fact they weren't even here in numbers during the time of slavery. This is all important and relevant. We have a culture outside of Anglo Saxon America. A black person no matter what ks gonna lump us as white for political reasons. But Italians in NY, Chicago, are 100% not you average everyday white person and culturally and historically are not. "Let's try that Anglo Saxon restaurant" said no one ever. 100% Italians have a culture. And to those saying "they look pretty white to me." Are you kidding? Some Italians look Arabic. When your family lived in Italy for thousands of years and has only lived in america for 100 years, we are a product of italy and are therefore italian, our genes are the same as yours, I don't like when italians in italy want to distance themselves or disclaim the italians in america because of our negative stereotypes, not all italians in america are mobsters, most of us are just like regular americans but we look like italians have italian names and are a little more emotional about family, food, and home then americans whose families came from other countries

I may be americanized to where I don't speak italian fluently for English is my first language and I am very american in many other ways, however everytime I write down my name its a name that came from my Italian family from just a couple generations ago, and yes italian people in america created spaghetti and meatballs, and we've made it something that is more america then italian, that's why we are americans but we are also influenced by italy as well, at the end of the day it is what it is, but in a way your right we are more american then italian, I just don't understand the hostility, you would think as italian people in italy you would see people with italian names and heritage and recognize the relation between us, italian americans are literally blood related to the italian people in italy, and we naturally bring italian culture and blend it with america culture in a unique way hence things like spaghetti and meatballs, but instead you look at us like your ashamed of us or act like we are not your family when the truth is we are related to italy genetically weather you like it or not, instead you want to have your nose up and disclaim us because you believe the stereotype that we are all a bunch of loud thugs or whatever, it's just a stuck up arrogant attitude that quite frankly makes me glad that I am american and not european, now if you'll excuse me I'm going to eat a cheeseburger and watch a basketball game

Been traveling and living in other nations worldwide and when i hear Italians constantly say" Italy is the most beautiful country in the world" or "we are the best" really irritating me. Whenever you go you will always find a fella claiming that his country is the most beautiful, this is funny Lol. There is not supremacy in term of best country, every one has its own beauty. Certainly Italy is one of the most beautiful but not the most.
