Never seen footage of these lot playing live before, I never would've guessed that the singer is also the main guitarist. Like the phrasing and almost spoken-word delivery of the lyrics over the top of those quite complex guitar parts must be quite a head-fuck to perform, but he absolutely nails it. Very impressive

In my opinin The lead singer lead guitarist should've been the centre he "was" the centre, the saxophonist shouldve beenat the side in the background, this band made the saxophonist tolerable. Saxophonist should never be the main player.

Somebody eh got battle-scarred by the profligate use of the sax solo in the eighties and never recovered. Maybe also they’d never seen Fela Kuti. I think Isaac probably never wanted to be front and centre.

Not anymore. Officially stated by him as the reason why he can't be in the band anymore. His mental health issues and the difficulty of doing *THIS* constantly, was too much. He left such a massive crater of godly talent in his footprint, that's all we needed anyway. New BCNR is going a whole new route, and I think it's good, I probably would've been trapped in a miserable melancholic trance forever if Isaac kept making sadder and sadder albums with them. Look at AFUT compared to this, y'kno? Makes these songs sound like PARTY BOPS

Came back here after watching the new Bush Hall performance. Something about this set just keeps drawing me back in. It's so unhinged, especially with Isaac's completely raw and unsettling vocal performance. Even if it's part of the act, there's just something that feels so real here that forces you to confront something dark, sinister, and personal. For me, more than any other music, it perfectly captures the feeling of crippling anxiety and manic thoughts. Kind of reminds me of Thom Yorke performing in the early days of Radiohead.

I think there was a #metoo allegation which is the kiss of death to bands these days. They were all set to take the world by storm. Now it's up to these guys who I have to say after seeing them both are their equal musically and as a live spectacle. I think Isaac Woods is doing a great job, and with Speedy Dan Carey doing the tweaks, are poised for greatness.
