Damn so sad that Isaac left, but I totally get why it had to be done. One needs to address their demons before it consumes them. Honestly. I don't mean to be offensive but the lyrics were the weakest part of the band in my opinion. Instrumentals are why I repeat songs and vocals sound great but the lyrics I actively tune it out because if I start actually hearing the words being said... I cry or cringe. I don't know. Lyrics are mostly trash anyway. I should just read a book if I feel this way.

Nothing against Arlo Parks. Her Mercury Prize is well deserved. 'Collapsed into Subeams' is quite a great record. In fact, this year's shorlist was truly stacked! shocked how critically underrated this album actually is. i guess it makes sense that it didn’t win, still need to listen to the arlo parks record... but yeah this and cavalcade are easily my album of the year picks. also very interesting pick for a performance, i guess it is their most popular song on Spotify right now. but to me it’s the strangest on the album, much more minimal. glad they pulled off this full band version though, sounds incredible. if being the next arcade fire is their goal, they seem like they’re very much in reach of that.
@sangresolida2 жыл бұрын
They played this song because, well, they weren't going to play Sunglasses or Athens, France in there, lol. I feel like this is their "poppiest" song, so it fits the place & the prize. However, the album should have won, in my opinion. Amazing stuff!
@steadyrhythms95712 жыл бұрын
@@sangresolida yeah i guess not, but to be fair black midi did bmbmbm a couple years back, and Slowthai did run around stage with a making of Boris Johnson’s head. but that’s true, track x is probably their poppiest song despite its minimalism and its complexity. it’s also their shortest song, and i am sure trying to play any of their other songs may be asking for a bit too much time, not sure how that works. but still a great performance nonetheless.
@arseniy13292 жыл бұрын
I think there’s a simpler reason for why they picked this song - it’s their newest one. I believe this is the song that was arranged most recently compared to the other ones on the album, so I think they may have thought that this reflects them most as a band.
@joaoassumpcao33472 жыл бұрын
@@arseniy1329 An even simpler reason is that it's their debut album song that most resembles their next album's songs. They even mentioned how Track X was the direction they wanted to go after the debut. And I mean, AFUT tells you all you need to know.
