Its nice to see two brothers who've openly disliked each other for decades, be able to come together for a couple hours a night to showcase this new Black Crowes cover band of theirs.

I had a major Crowes obsession for roughly twenty years, travelled all over Europe and The US to see them (did the full Euro tours for Amorica in 94/5 including the support slots for The Stones and Page & Plant and the Sho' Nuff and By Your Side tours of 1999) and I'm sorry to say that the "new" Crowes is a shameless cash grab, you can see that in Rich's demeanour, more sullen and morose than ever. They (Chris and Rich) always detested the idea of becoming a "heritage band" playing their old hits and doing anniversary tours and now look. How easily Rich just walked away from Magpie Salute without a backward glance and went back to a brother who thinks he IS The Crowes, as evidenced in his ridiculous demands when the band tried to come back from their "hiatus" and he asked for most of the money and a cut of the cash due for other band members. Sad.

I was working for a small radio station in West Virginia when their first album was released. We received the promotion single for "Jealous Again". After the first time I played it on the air, which was also the first time I'd heard the song myself, I told a couple of coworkers that these guys were going to be BIG. Their first three albums course through my veins to this day. The band's history has been, shall we say....volatile? But I'm glad that the band are still making quality music almost 35 years later.

I saw them in concert in 1991 I think in Dallas, Texas. Went with a small group of friends/co-workers. That record was hot, hot, hot. On the radio constantly. It was a really good concert and I could not stop watching the lead singer. We were all just gob-smacked at his energy levels. We knew there were some good drugs behind his energy. I had never seen energy and a man wound up so much. And no photos, no cameras, no phones from those days.

I was very pleased to hear Chris and Rich were able to reunite again. There is no doubt in my mind that they need each other as much as we - their fans and music lovers of Southern Rock - need them. I got concerned that the day would come when one of them would check out from planet earth and things that should have been said a long time ago would never be spoken. I'm really thankful it didn't come to that. Thank you guys and best of luck moving forward 🙏☮️ And thank you @CBSMornings for a great segment.

Yea - I agree . I guess his book didn’t help matters, haha. But he is an original member , and tbh, their lineup changes - even including Steve- have never really captured the first 3 album chemistry that they had - esp.,the 2nd album: THAT lineup was the best , overall. Of course the songs are “the sound” , and that’s Chris & Rich , but the live performances of the 1992/93 era - you can see and hear the chemistry

Respect to CBS for doing a long-form piece on the Crowes! I consume zero mainstream media because it is typically war propaganda or BS. This is real news. The first record in 15 years. And you evoked a lot from those guys. The host obviously admires the guys and their music, or he faked it really well. The DID use the word "love" and you could feel it between them. This was a a very well done piece of journalism, right down to the commentary at the end. Thank you.

Is it weird that I think of the Black Crowes as the American Rolling Stones? Because the Stones are maybe the only British Invasion band that ever really made American music. Particularly the kind you could make in Nashville, Detroit or Memphis. I grew up on their music and of course the Beatles, but early on, Aerosmith was America's answer to the Stones. But all the while, the Allman Brothers were forging a new ethos from the Southern Boogie Band tradition, rooted in the kind of Down South Jukin' later exemplified by Lynerd Skynerd, who toured with the Stones, with the intention of blowing them off the stage, every night. According to contemporaneous accounts, they succeeded, more nights than not. But where does that leave the Black Crowes, who grew up in the shadow of the bands afore mentioned, plus Tom Petty? FIIK.

Strange way to phrase the title. In my mind, when you say they released new music for the first time in more than a decade, that would be 11, 12, maybe 13 years. But I would have never guessed 15. I was wondering throughout the video how many interviews he did for this piece, then he mentioned it in the end segment.
