The funny thing is that Harlem doesn’t look like it used to be now. It has a growing white population, due to gentrification. And I’ve heard that a lot of the historic culture that made Harlem great has disappeared. It’s definitely good to diversify communities, but sometimes there is a benefit culturally to homogeny, especially for Black people.

Same thing on D.C. it use to be called chocolate city but not anymore. Gentrification at its finest and they actively tried to remove our culture

Yeah this was a long time ago, Harlem has never felt like an unsafe area, I lived in NYC for many years and went to Harlem many times. The only actual unsafe places still left from the 80s and 90s when crime was really bad in NYC are parts of the South bronx and parts of Eastern Queens. Otherwise the city is relatively safe. Los Angeles, DC, South side of Chicago and parts of St Louis, to name a few, are waaaaay more dangerous.

@@bellac1451 Nahh DC aint violent like it used to be at all. I remember being young goin with my dad to DC and there were definitley places we couldn't go. I was born in DC and grew up 10 mins away, nowadays the crime stats are skewed because the most consistent crime area is mainly in SE (and parts of PG county Maryland - which is right near SE) This is where the city has essentially cornered all its black residents who have lived in DC for multiple generations. Also maybe a few lil spots in NE can be rough too, but the majority of the city has been gentrified and not nearly as dangerous as it once was.

Whats funny is he's scared but all the history show there are more chances of a Black guy being in danger going to a White neighborhood than a white person going to a Black neighborhood. 😂😂

😂😂😂 , bill is right tho once your junk convinces you , it'll put you in all types of situations that you normally wouldn't put yourself in , just because you want some 🐈 When (chatline) the phone dating service was big , I use to use it to talk to women on the phone and then do a meetup , the addresses they gave me were places that I wouldn't feel safe staying too long just because it was deep in the projects area in the upper eastside of manhattan NY , where people are known to rob and delete other people , especially if your not from there theyll start problems with you , but I still went anyways had my fun and left as quick as possible before anything happens to me
