In the last part, we headed out of Bukit Lawang into Gunung Leuser National park, Sumatra. Here we slept overnight in a jungle camp.
Join us for gibbons, insects and tubing down the river back to Bukit Lawang!

Lovely watch guys! So impressed with how your guide handled the approach of the Siamang (black gibbon). While it's sad to see her come to the ground (clearly looking for food from tourists), great to see that you had a fantastic guide who kept a distance and didn't reward that behaviour. Close encounters can be amazing, but so unnatural for this species to approach people and come to the ground like that. Looks like you had a great trip :)

Yes our guide was brilliant, so experienced and respectful. We learnt so much about the jungle and the wildlife from him.

We did the Komodo cruise and saw a little bit of Lombok and Labuan bajo either side too. We absolutely loved it!

Hopefully that Siamang is recently rescued or else it would be quite sad to see them develop that behaviour. Siamang is known to be an exclusively arboreal primate, they almost never spend any time on the ground.

Yes it's very sad. We were told that they are completely wild (not semi wild), but they're used to being fed by people to attract them unfortunately
