Here is the first song and only song I've ever copyrighted and written. It is to the melody of Rodnie Bryant's gospel tune, "Testimony". This song pays tribute to African American heroes of the past on whose shoulders we stand!

Just wanted to send a special thanks to Ms. Malinda (Williams) Jackson for sharing this song with us! We performed/ministered to our congregation yesterday during the church’s Black History Month Celebration and the kids did an AMAZING job!!! Absolutely Amazing!!! They really took to the song and as one of their leaders, my heart was...is OVERJOYED!!! I imagine this song and performance took a long time to create and perfect. Now our kids can have another method of acknowledging the shoulders on which we stand. I am grateful! Grateful to you ❤️

GRATEFUL TO YOU--Lyrics by Malinda (Williams) Jackson I want to say thank you for the sacrifice you made! Because of you, it's plain to see, you have unlocked doors for me! If I try, I can be whatever I set my mind to be, and so I'm grateful.....I'm grateful to you! .... Mae Jemison despite the odds, became the first black woman astronaut. She went to school, she stayed on track, she didn't let anyone hold her back. Now If I try, I can be what ever I set my mind to be and so I'm grateful, I'm grateful to you. Martin Luther King --he had a dream that we could live in harmony, in his fight for civil rights he paved the way for you and me. So if I try I can be whatever I set my mind to be and so I'm grateful, I'm grateful to you. November 4th 2008 Barack Obama did something great. He gave us hope, he fought for change. Became the president of the USA. So if I try I can be whatever I set my mind to be, and so I'm grateful. I'm grateful to you. Malcolm X, Booker T, Rosa Parks, Oprah Winfrey, Langston Hughes, Charles Drew, Harriet Tubman, Maya Angelou. So if I try the best I can on your shoulders I will stand and so I'm grateful. ... grateful to you
