Yeah Zakk Wylde one of the best guitarists ever in the metal community need I say more and he is my number one favorite Les Paul user when it comes to active pickups that raw tone from his hot rod rodded version the EMG 81-85 set sound amazing. Now keep in mind everyone if you have a amp that is below 40 Watts I highly recommend you get a decent amplifier that can handle these pickups as I found out the amount of gain, distortion and output they deliver can literally destroy a speaker in any practice amp. I recommend a Marshall Code 25, 50 or MG Series Believe me Zakk has had his own lineup of Marshall MGs

I’ve used active pickups in everything from 100 watt tube heads to 5 watt solid state practise amps. If you blew up an amp it’s because you were pushing the volume too hard or something.
