And as someone who has lived in poverty real poverty, gang culture is no excuse and has nothing to do with it. These days the schools from most high are encouraging gang culture among kids who never missed a meal. Yes its true it can be easier to control people if they suffer, BUT WE STILL HAVE TO CHOOSE IT. Ghetto culture is perpetual homelessness like communism is perpetual poverty. Capitalism steals our money through taxes and charities and virtue signalling and communism spends it on war so they can destroy dissent amongst people living under communism to attack those living under capitalism. Two sides of the same coin that has no real value of its own, like all things the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Money has no real value, gold "standard" is just a currency. LIFE IS OF MEANING, THAT IS WHAT MATTERS :)

He became a successful businessman in the states before taking an economics job in South Africa. He said he would never date a black American girl (I am assuming the stereotype not all) because their culture is too different from his. Black American women air their dirty laundry/grievances with spouses in public settings which in Kenyan culture is a no no. He said if you had a disagreement with your spouse or family member you would wait until you were in the privacy of your own home to fight. It would greatly shame and embarrass the whole family to do so in public. For that reason Kenyan men are afraid of black American women. That interested me to hear an Africans perspective. Also as a whole I find Africans far more aware of politics than US folks. They vote for policies not looks. A decade ago a Senegal cabbie and I had a great talk. I was impressed by his viewpoint and knowledge of our policies/laws. He said in Senegal everyone speaks more than one language and every kid is taught to follow politics closely. He said you needed to for survival as in one day a military coup could take power and you and your family could be on the run if on the opposing side.

My sister's workplace (@ 75 workers) had mandatory DEI training a couple of weeks ago. Within the first 10 minutes they all had to sign a declaration that white privilege and Christian privilege were alive in their office and that reverse racism can't exist. People read that and started walking out. Boos stood up and said anyone that left would be fired. So over the next 15 minutes @ 60 of 75 workers left. The owner closed the company to figure out what to do, then called everybody back. The workers are in a wait-and-see attitude, but told him they will not sit down and listen to a consultant talk crap about them to their faces. People are fed up.

The city of Saint Louis has been trying to force the county of Saint Louis to rejoin for the same reasons. The city is mismanaged, crime ridden, can’t keep a budget and politicians just enrich themselves while basic things like managing traffic during big public events or cleaning the streets aren’t taken care of. The city is hard blue, the counties are red and have a larger tax base with far less crime. The city pays for people to have “access” to abortions. The county has police that do their job, lower taxes and roads that get fixed/salted in winter. Where do you want to live?

Anything more than 10% black is problematic. I wouldn’t buy in an area more than 5% black. My city in California has over 300,000 people yet there are only about 3 murders in a typical year. In California no less where the communist state government doesn’t prosecute criminals.The reason is that blacks are only about 2% of the population.

As a Mexican growing up on the west coast with blacks. I experienced the most hate and racism from them. They actually push racism on others. It's insecurity or something. If 86,000 residents are leaving Baton Rouge and forming their own municipality of Saint George the people of Baton Rouge should be celebrating. It means that 86,000 people are going away and taking all of their expenses for a school system, hospitals, police, fire fighters, teachers, public employees, roads, bridges, mass transit, water and sewer systems, etc. with them. Now the city of Baton Rouge should be rolling in money. Unless those remaining haven't been paying their fair share of taxes.

You are not understanding. St George was unincorporated, and not part of the city of Baton Rouge. It was and still is a part of East Baton Rouge Parish. The problem is that the mayor of the city is the same as the president of the parish. It's confusing because this type of consolidation works only if the city and the county have the same geography, etc.

I survived Baltimore City 1989-2009. Black racism was rampant and a daily experience for whites, African immigrants, Latinos, and Asians. Sexism and homophobia are really common too. The violence was extreme, I've been jumped countless times and shot at. My friend is paralyzed after a stabbing attack, and every incident was accompanied with racial slurs. I made it through it and am wiser and stronger for it. I understand the distrust and resentment African Americans have towards whites, I now feel the same towards them. I teach my children to love their ethnic ancestry and their cultural inheritance. 14

@@patrickryan1515 Plenty of people in California feel this way and support the Free State of Jefferson. Unfortunately, California is well past the critical mass where those who take outnumber (and out-vote) those who provide. Also, and I lived there for over a decade, many of those who do pay taxes feel virtuous for voting in favor of ANY spending bill, no matter what it's for, or how hare-brained it is. No spending bills fail in silicon valley. None. Regardless of how bad they are.

Won't happen, you have to have permission from the state you are leaving first. That alone is going to abort the project. Unless there is another civil war and the people wanting to make new states come out on the side of whoever ended up winning. That would be the West Virginia method of statehood.

Most people have an aversion to being around snakes. Not all snakes are harmful, but enough are that most people try to avoid them. They don’t hate snakes because of their skin, they just don’t want to get bit and can’t determine if they’ve encountered a harmless one or dangerous one.
