I'll openly admit this: I cried after seeing the resonance cascade and hearing that music, and also cried upon first seeing Xen pn my shitty laptop in all of its GameCube graphics glory. ADDED: Yeah, it was gorgeous in videos, but seeing the game at ALL on my laptop is probably what made me cry, knowing that I could experience this amazing game for myself. I can't eait to experience this game to its fullest on the Steam Deck.

Tbh l, I find the original game to have a much more dramatic resonance cascade. The sound design was so much better in the original. Even their voices sound less like a PA and more like a cell phone

the music you hear at the start of unforeseen consequences is so good same thing everyone felt when hearing triage at dawn it’s that music that just asks us “what did we just do” without any words half life soundtracks never miss

The theme that plays after getting back to the test chamber after the cascade gives the feeling of dread that you know what’s gonna happen next with the fate of earth

The year was ´98 and i remember my father saying he was really happy at the time as a scientist. This was a peak era for the Science and Research development department. But after the Resonance Cascade everything changed for the worse. The first incident was so devastating we still deal with the aftermath to this day. Because my Father worked at Black Mesa. He never told us much of what he did other than he was a scientist and he hated the ridiculous ties he was forced to wear. I never saw him again after the incident...i remember my mother informing my uncle who worked for the goverment as a spokesman for Black Mesa but survided the whole ordeal. I remember my Mother saying `Sir, a second vortigon has hit black mesa` this was 3 years after the black mesa incident in ´98. Now i live my life under Combine rule. Some believe the whole black mesa incident was an inside job gone wrong,But i dont know what to believe all i know is that living under the Combine rule makes me wish to be a FREEMAN.
