I’ve been saying for years you’re our King Crimson. This cover solidifies that. Pulled it off with wonderful fervor. Completely wonderful. And this ain’t a song you pull out your ass. It’s got to be one of the hardest, most complex, and weirdest songs to pull off. You guys did it well and just makes me realize I am so right. You guys are wonderful.

I think Fripp would approve of this spirited and self-aware version - created a half-century after its birth..Black Midi are unique and a rare standard-bearer of originality.

@@jaydenwhitlen1489 im confident its not a sax but a human. It sounds nothing like a sax and theres a clear "waouh" that you can hear and thats not a range a sax could do. There's even a raspiness to it. Plus it would be a thing they would do adding one of the guys scream in the back

@@jaydenwhitlen1489 you can clearly hear that it's a human. Theres sax playing the whole song and it sounds nothing like that scream. You can clearly hear the raspiness of a human voice in that scream and a sax can just not reproduce that sound

a buddy of mine and i who both are already big into Black Midi listened to this ep the day it came out and we both about fainted when we saw the lineup was the Red Screamy Man’s Absolute Face-Melter, t swizzy, and the weird fish album [feat. U2] back to back to back. This is likely the best cover of Schizoid Man I’ve heard, and I heard ELP’s live version.

I cant stop listening to this cover! They gave it more energy, which makes it even a bigger blast to listen to. It's nice to hear such a great song with modern, sharp production

@@zebonaut the song has two sections, the second being Mirrors and consists of an instrumental with solos. It starts at about 1:10 in this recording. Most of the songs on this album have multiple named sections, you can see them if you look up the track listing of the original LP Also i want to say i love the vocals on this cover, particularly the final lines

@@zebonaut Mirrors is the instrumental section after the first two verses of Schizoid Man. bm actually does the first verse then jumps into mirrors; they don't do the third verse and instead perform the second verse after the instrumental section. It's probably bad I'm such a Crimhead to have this kinda knowledge haha EDIT: I just now saw Harrison's comment cause I was too quick to respond thanks to push notifs. Neat you've been into KC longer than I though. Makes me wonder if you saw them on their Power to Believe tour..:

@@Jazio_VT Unfortunately no,because PtB is one of my fave albums. I saw the Thrak Tour two times (..Düsseldorf (where people yelled "LOUDER!", it really was too soft in the back) and the other Stadgarten Cologne (which is one of the posters in the Thrak Box) . I discovered them for me with the Disclipline Album, Vroom & Thrak, then Red, then Larks, Starless & Bible Black , then the the rest of the discography. I saw the new line up 6 times, Utrecht, Berlin three times , Essen and Frankfurt.
