TEDx Talks

9 жыл бұрын

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In this Talk, Pastor Michael T. Smith argues that the “normalcy” of black murder is engrained in our American culture. Indeed, the idea that a black American would be involved in a homicide-either as perpetrator or victim-is so broadly accepted as to be largely unnoticed.
Smith exposes the racism that underlies the appalling lack of outrage at high death rates in the black community, and highlights the hypocrisy of a society that glamorizes violence, but ignores its victims. “It doesn’t take action to keep racism going,” Smith observes, “it takes inaction.”
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

ADTX Channel “The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion”. Albert Camus. This is built not on the sand of opinion but the bedrock of reality. Who developed the lesson plan? The “Projects” have that name as housing based on the study “project” of rats contained in confined quarters with limited resources. The results were so affective that they quickly built the housing system known as “Projects”. We have been studied for destruction and steered towards self-destruction the same way the illusion of wonder and greatness has been pulled over the eyes of white people. All waking up to the cost of buying into an illusion will be devastating.

Natalia Ayasha Ciccone F i definately agree🖒. we must be careful not to fall into the racism trap. if we can use racism as a end of discussion excuse, most of us will use it and ignore our own personal responsibilities in constructing our environment and culture. saying racism is whats sabotaging me leaves me with the hopless option of solving racism (that will exist forever) to ever succeed. it's like letting me see the jailor and the cell door but not acknowledging what got me there and how ill get out. you can look at countries and cities where blacks control the govt and they are just as drug riddled and morally empty as the others. at the end of the day we must pray for love and teach our children another way
