Personally, I never saw Savimbi as a “big halfwit, war-hungry” leader when I played this mission, I saw savimbi as an awesome character that boosted my morale when I first played the mission (first cod game btw) and save me and hudson while escaping with Woods. Definitely one of the most memorable characters for me.

Apparently the family of Savimbi did try to sue the devs or something because of how he was portrayed (because he looked dumb to them?), but I don't see what's their problem he was awesome

That Savimbi's children even sue Activision for portraying their father as a epic war hero is beyond my comprehension. Activision actually made Savimbi more known to the public now and the fanbase welcomed him into our collection of most epic characters in COD history. That with only ONE mission, damn it when did we go from this to enemy team and my team?

Fun Fact: Jonas Savimbi was a real person, who actually did fight against the MPLA in Angola. In fact, he left behind several wives and 25 children, 3 oh which went on to sue Activision for their depiction of Savimbi, claiming it was offensive.

True Fact: Jonas Savimbi died in a gun battle with MPLA forces on February 22, 2002. He was shot 15 times and died while still firing his gun. I like to imagine that he heard this song playing in the background in his final moments.
