Black Panther was an incredible film. It's unfortunate that Chadwick passed away. He kept it secret, and continued to work in various films. He represented excellence, from the Prince of Wakanda, to Thurgood Marshall, James Brown, and Jackie Robinson. He showed us how great of an actor he was, and more importantly how influential he was to the youth. A role model, a humble, and intelligent man. Gone too soon. Rest in peace.

In all the MCU Movies, Killmonger, to me, has the most understandable & sympathetic rationale for being who he was. My son & I both agreed at the end that.... it was hard to see him as an "actual" villain.

Killmonger was the hero in my mind. TChalla killed his blood to team up with the same people they call colonizer. Killmonger was trying to level the playing field so everybody could defend themselves.

@@mackinshizzaveli4202 It's... complicated. Killmonger wanted to fuel a war, a slaughter. Revenge. And I don't know that I 100% disagree with what he wanted. And that's why he's the best advisory (not 'villain') the MCU has had to date to me.

I heard someone say that they hadn’t ever seen a villain convince the hero that he was right. Killmonger’s proposed methodology would have been a cruel overreach, to be certain, but his reasoning was sound.

@@earthing3696 Killmongers plan was to share vibranium with countries and regions still being exploited. Did you see Black Panther 2? Namoor fled from conquistadors 4-500 years ago and the same thing was happening today. Where do so called first world countries get their resources from? Because they for damn sure don’t have any. Apple is a trillion dollar company and none of their materials come from America. Talking about ancestors like people aren’t being exploited as I’m typing. All you heard was black (because he’s black) but he was talking about all poor and disenfranchised people. He wasn’t just sending vibranium to Oakland.

Black Panther was the first superhero film to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. It was also nominated for Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Original Song “All the Stars”. It won THREE Oscars: Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, and Best Original Score (done by The Mandalorian composer himself, Ludwig Gorannson), winning more than any other superhero film. This movie was a HUGE cultural phenomenon and it’s awesome that you guys managed to see it. ^-^ Definitely one to be talked about many years from now.

This film holds a special place for me. Before it came out, my grandfather passed away and I wasn't there to say goodbye. I soon had a dream where I was at a park. There were these steps that lead to the sky. I saw my grandfather walking down the steps to greet me. I sobbed as I embraced him, telling him how sorry I was for not being there. He simply smiled and hugged back, telling me that he'll always love me and watch over me. He then went back up the steps so I can wake up with tears rolling down my face. The ancestral plane scene makes me tear up because of this dream. Chadwick passing was sad to me as well because he really brought Black Panther to life. It's because of him I like the character more. Rest in peace Chadwick and you too, grandpa. Wakanda Forever.

It's not necessarily a lack of confidence keeping the other tribes from putting forth a challenger. It's also the fact that they are satisfied with the current leadership and unwilling to rock the national boat just for the sake of a shot at the throne. These are a people who have developed an advanced society that's been safe from colonization because they made a point not to take unnecessary risks.

You can see as the movies progress, he gets leaner and leaner. :( His death really messed with me because he was only 10 years older than me. It really blew my mind. Love this film and messages it sends. It was just a different Marvel film and I loved that. I was devasted when Chadwick died, I had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and had finished treatment when he died. It hit close to home because finding out he died from cancer, made me really sit and think about my own mortality, it also changed how I wanted to go forward with living my life. Chadwick gave us something special, with his work and how he lived. Wakanda Forever was done well, I think it allowed not only the people of Wakanda to grieve but it also gave us as fans a space to grieve. Great reaction!!

I was absolutely overwhelmed by this film! It’s not just one of my favorite films in the MCU, it’s one of my favorite comic book films ever! It had such a brilliant story, great characters and great action! Every character in the film has a purpose. None of them feel wasted. They all contribute in some way. I also like how the humor is kept to a minimum. The only complaint that I have is that some of the CGI looked pretty bad, especially in the climax. But other than that, this is an amazing MCU film! M'Baku rejected the heart-shaped herb but it wasn't for the noble reason that you think. The herb was touted to be a gift from the goddess Bast but M'Baku and the Jabari are disciples of Hanuman, the Hindu monkey deity. We know this because he dedicated his challenge to Hanuman. Had he accepted a boost of strength from the herb, I think his people would've viewed him as a sellout and he probably wouldn't have been able to live with himself had he accepted that offer. Accepting the herb could've meant dissent among his people and war within himself. That's my theory anyway.

The guy with the hand I believe is named Klaw and was the guy who had his arm cut off by Ultron after bringing up Tony Stark infront of him.

And that's what it's all about. Be you and be proud of who you are. The first BP movie was a gateway that without it becoming the huge success it did become, a lot of other movies of disenfranchised people probably wouldn't have seen represented. Including: Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, Shang-Chi, The Eternals, and the Talocan. In real life, this reminds me of the gateway of the Civil Rights movement of which without that historical event, a lot of other people wouldn't have the freedom and privileges they have now in the U.S. The system still sucks and is still very corrupt but it was a huge historical event that black Americans head hunted in pursuit of representation. Pretty much how BP and Kilmonger were compared to Martin Luther King, Jr., and the beginning mindset of Malcolm X before he changed his views, back when he used to follow the ways of Louis Farrakhan. Tenoch was a great choice to play Namor. His version resonated very well. I've heard comic book fans say that his version was more subtle than the one from the comics. He wasn't over the top cartoonishly villainous. It wouldn't have worked for the tone of the movie. So Ryan made the right choice to have him be a little toned down from the comics.

There was a whole section of the Wakanda people. They were almost in the class of Killmonger in believing that Wakanda needed to join the world's power and not remain as an isolationist nation. The beauty of this film is the ability to show the antagonist point of view, no matter how extreme it was. P.S. did you guys watch the after credit scenes?

I believe the ancestral plain in this movie is the same as Moon Knight, but we saw it here first. Each culture has their own from what I understand, but it’s connected.

Good movie, so sad that Chadwick Boseman was taken from life far too early.

I think the thing I love most about this movie is that it’s probably the only Marvel movie where the hero realizes that the villain was right. They still disagree on methods, but on the main point of contention Killmonger was right. And T’Challa realizes it.

The messed up part is, Nakia already suggested it to him earlier in the movie. It wasn't until he was threatened and he got Eric's backstory that he took it more seriously into consideration.

This was a good film in its own right. Boseman portrayed the character perfectly, as he did all the historical black figures he played before his death. Good plot, nice action, perfect villain. However, I think the movie received way more praise than it needed because of the cultural climate. I'm not knocking anybody's job on the film, but the heads of Hollywood tend to go with the political climate, not actual cinema.

Or… just a thought, the people it was written from the perspective of really resonated with it. You can’t separate plot from message, and from my eyes a poc it’s a more than solid film. Even on rewatched they fixed the CGI and it looks way better when it was put in theaters. I’m I’m sick of the overpraise shit, like it it or not that’s fine. But the people that praised it bc they resonated with the themes are allowed to love it even if u don’t.
