My 15 year old nephew balled his eyes out during the “Who are you” scene, and it broke me. I asked “What made you feel that way?” And said… “To know that Chadwick Boseman is no longer here….and to see a rebirth of his character and watching the cast mourn while performing for us was super amazing. He said he wasn’t crying because he was sad. It was a cry of joy for him to move on.” To hear a 15 year old say that blow my mind! This movie will forever be my favorite! 🖤💜🖤💜

I've never been in any movie (A Quiet Place included) where entire theaters went dead silent like they did at the beginning of this one and at the post credits with Shuri finally letting go. It was probably the best post credits scene in all of the MCU.

Shuri said she wanted to burn the world if she dealt with T’Challa’s death. The final scene of the movie was her looking into the sunset, a moment where sunlight calms down from “burning” the world. It was like T’Challa was there to help her calm her spirit while she finally let go of her pain. I’m crying just thinking about it.

@@GMeza-cy5xv I hear ya, but art imitates life. Yes, this is just a movie, but so many of us have lost loved ones and have been through these same stages of grief. @@phines9 Glad it worked for you. Cleary we can all have opinions but I do believe that Marvel should have recasted. The way they killed T'challa was tasteless in my opinion and I never see people lobby a character with a actor so much when the actor barely was in any of these marvel films. His on screen presence in total is less than a hour and 20 minutes. T'challa in this series of films is no where near the level of his contemporaries and to just move on from him as a fan of the character is lame. But then again most of the people caping for this decision have never rocked with the character before so its okay when its not their guy. T'challa is NOT Chadwick bosemen. One is a fictional SYMBOL and the other is a REAL HERO who fought for this type of representation to be seen pass him as an actor. Imagine if the person build a house just died and that house was never continued to be built upon. No one cares about the mantle, its the characters that make these mantles mean something. God forbid something happens to Tom holland you think this would be a discussion or a decision the studio would even make or entertain?

As a reporter, I’ve been to many press screenings. When I saw this on Monday, it was the first time I’ve ever been in a theater with press only where you actually heard people crying. The gasps at different points in the movie at certain points which I won’t spoil were something I’ve never heard in screenings like this. As a huge Marvel fan, I sometimes pass on those films because I like the experience of the midnight screenings with other fans who I know are there for the love of the franchise. I just didn’t want to wait. I was not expecting to get a similar experience. Definitely more subdued because everyone was there in an “official” capacity, but it was still powerful enough to move everyone there. I had a feeling midway through that Nakia and T’Challa had a child and that was what Ramonda was about to tell Shuri before Namor showed up. When it turned out to be true, I was still so very moved by the whole scene. Letitia Wright’s face….that smile. God, she was so good in that scene.

i'm watching this breakdown and the tears are flooding back with Toussaint/Prince T'Challa and Shuri. [and thank you! Phase Four has been a type of therapy. i've been saying so to friends; it's like M. Studios said, "okay you WON'T go to therapy? we'll bring it to you"]

February 22 of 2021...I lost my only confidant and my oldest friend Jim. He knew me better than anyone ever will. Sorry for the misquote but That line in the film about loosing the last person who knew her really hit home. I literally just buried my friend's ashes on the 29th of October (Shovels and ashes in hand.) Went to our old camping site (per his wishes) and buried him This was a hard film to get through. Honestly was not looking forward to it after that but... this movie transposed a tremendous amount of grief that I've had into hope for me. Thank you Ryan and of course thank you from the ether Chad.

Came out the theatre an hr ago and I am still so emotional!! The movie waa beautiful and the reveal was made me gasp!! I cried from the very first scene... Chadwick's death was handled perfectly well. When Shuri said T'challa dealth with d sickness in 'silently', it broke me. It definitely wnt be for everyone but I am happy u guys loved cos I value ur opinion fortunately or unfortunately 😁😩!!

Earlier in the movie, when they went to that mourning watering hole, Ramonda told Shuri how (when she went before) she felt like T'Challa was there. At that time, Shuri told her it was in her head or it was the wind or something like that? I like to think that in that moment of silence, maybe Shuri felt that too (that he was there)... And THEN little T'Challa comes out. 😭😭😭

The best thing they could have done while trying to stick to the stance with not recasting but also acknowledging the fact that T’challa is an important character worth having and that has many stories left to tell. I’m kind of surprised I never thought of just giving his son the same name… something as simple as that and now we can still have all the T’challa stories. I wonder of they’ll do a time jump or something and I’m curious to see who they’ll get to play the older version of his son.

It was a beautiful movie. I wont say it was perfect. I was expecting something very epic and sad throughout the whole movie. But what they did was really good too. The cinematography, the acting , visuals, Namor- these were my favs. I really love that sometimes most MCU movies feel like an Indie movie. This one did too. And the flashback of Chadwick at the end was really painful for me. Really missed him. The post credit scene was well done. Very excited for our T'Challa Jr. to rise up to be king someday.

I truly don't believe they could've recast T'Challa in the traditional sense without anyone constantly comparing the actor to Chadwick. This is fine (and normal) in some cases, but in this one, I just don't see it as appropriate or fitting. This was the BEST way they could've done it. Now, we can have a T'Challa who can be his own character, simply because he is.

What I love about BP 2's post credit scene and whole movie in general, is that it didn't rely on cameos. No teasers for upcoming movies, just the film's story on its own was enough. By the time BP 3 rolls around T'Challa Jr will be a teenager I think, and Shuri might prepare him to take the mantle.

4:11 100% AGREE ON THAT STATEMENT: Wakanda Forever is possibly the first and final Phase 4 movie that feels like it tells a complete story; one of the reasons why Phase 4 doesn't resonate well with fans (aside from underwhelming/bizarre character arcs and pacing issues) is the fact that they are all merely set-ups that are pointless, lead to even more convoluted set-ups or thematically irrelevant to the movies themselves, giving us the feeling that it just seems to keep on going forever without resolution. This movie succeeds on its own accords because it perfectly introduces every essential element that are intricately linked together without being wasted and ACTUALLY TIES UP EVERY SINGLE LOOSE END in the third act in a satisfying manner. If the next few phases are as good and hopefully better than both NWH and WF (both are already exceptional enough), the MCU will definitely have a brighter future.

In addition to everything mentioned about this young actor and how he portrayed the moment of sharing his full name - I felt a sense of dignity as well. That was one thing I've heard repeatedly about Chadwick Boseman was how he embodied the regal/royal and brought such a sense of dignity to this role a bit more than his other roles. I thought this young man was genius and adorable!!
