When I first heard his voice on "colors" I felt like his voice resembles the legendary Otis Redding, now I'm so glad he chose to do this cover.

@@bigmemphismook9019 I agree, I'm sure Eric Burton would agree too. How to compare to such a legend? But he is the closest voice that reminded me to Otis. The legend only lived 26 years, I hope his legacy continues to inspire

The first time I heard "Colors" I thought it was and oldie I somehow missed. I couldn't figure out why I'd never heard it before. I didn't know exactly who he reminded me of, but Otis is a good comparison.

Used to sing and whistle to this with my old man as a kid growing up, until he sadly passed away when I was 17 years old, this song was played as my dad left the church at his funeral. It truly means so much to me and this rendition is absolutely beautiful, shed a tear reminiscing listening to this.

That's because he isn't Otis, lol. He's doing it the Eddie way, with his naturally gifted & raw vocal, which I think is amazing! Saw the Black Pumas live in Belfast & Eddie signed a set list for me, bless him. Their album 'Black Pumas" is amazing, especially Colours, Oct 33 & Know you better, & I would absolutely go and see them again, in fact I've driven up quite a fan base for the Black Pumas :-) I'd encourage anyone to buy the their album - it really is something else@@chrisjb241

Did they play this song? Otis Redding actually died in Madison when his plane crashed into Lake Monona. Really sad story, especially with this song. His death was three days after recording it.

I have never heard of this singer until tonight. It just popd up in 'playing for change ' the song colours, i immediatlly loved his singing voice , which hit my like love sold button. Such unique , soul reaching voice, gosh , am i behind times ? Oh yes for sure. I find myself searching for more of the black pumas music lives, and every song they ever released, Great sound , great band.

This is how a cover should be. He never tried to sing like Otis or play like Cropper. He just made it his own, but still captured the essence of the song
