Black Sabbath is one of the most iconic bands of all time, especially in heavy metal. And Ozzy Osbourne was the legendary frontman. But is Ozzy happy with the arc of Black Sabbath? It was Metallica for me; I "borrowed" my older sister's Master of Puppets cassette, and that was my introduction to heavy music. But I felt the same thing when I first heard Sabbath, and more; one of her stoner friends gave me a cassette of We Sold Our Soul For Rock n' Roll, and it was the greatest thing I'd ever heard. Sabbath is still the heaviest band in my opinion, and my favorite band. They could have a song like Changes and it could sound so haunting and beautiful at the same time; Metallica really couldn't do something like that, nor can pretty much any other metal band.

Ozzy is such a legend. When my Dad was young 14-15ish Ozzy and Sharon were staying at a hotel in Derby called The Penine Hotel. My Nanna used to manage that hotel and when she found out that Ozzy was staying there she called my Grandad who sent my Dad in a taxi to the hotel that night so that he could meet his hero, Ozzy. Ozzy spent time with my Dad, signed all of his records and my Dad bought Ozzy a pint. Ozzy told my dad to be good and do what his mum said. This is still a very fond memory for my Dad and the family. I love the Osbournes and I am a big fan of Jack and Kelly ❤🤟

@@tylerthompson1842yeah totally different time, not a bad thing. The teenage fan would have been so proud to be able to say he bought Ozzy a pint. It would have been worse for Ozzy to knock him back. If the boy had been old enough to drink Ozzy would have bought him plenty drinks back. At that age - teenage in England or any part of the UK it would just be cool to say you've bought Ozzy a drink, as in he accepted that drink from you.

Apparently the lore behind the Black Sabbath title track is Geezer was playing Mars, Bringer of War on bass, and Iommi turned it into the Tri Tone Riff! There's recordings of it from 1969, before 1970. It's the true start of Metal and Doom Metal 🤘🏼

That would be Awesome! And Sharon , Jack, Kelly and Ozzy himself are the only ones who can do this properly and do it the right way honourably the greatest story ever told about the man we all love ❤️. Ozzy is my favourite entertainer and musician ever! It needs to be about 3 hours long to tell the story of the greatest metal artist Ever… I’ve been lucky enough to see Ozzy live more times than I’ve seen any other bands and he has always put on the most incredible live shows as a solo artist. He truly loves and cares about his fans you can clearly see and feel this at the live shows. He puts Everything he has into what he does there is no question about it! Being able to see him live in Vancouver BC Canada , Thunderbird outdoor stadium reunited with all 4 original Black Sabbath members in 1999 at Ozzfest was a dream come true ! 🤟🏻😎👍🏻 to this day it was the most incredible experience and live show I have ever seen to this day many years and concerts later. OZZY is the King 👑 and No One will Ever replace him , so happy he’s still with us all and looking great 👍🏻 and having fun just being himself and enjoying life. These personal stories are 100% pure gold. I love seeing Ozzy have a laugh thinking about the crazy and funny moments in the past and that we all get hear them from Oz himself 😊. You can easily tell how relaxed and comfortable he is around Billy and that’s a great thing for him to have a true loyal and down to earth close friend who has also been there. Thanks again for sharing Ozzy and Billy 😊 it means Everything to the fans to have you in our lives.

The moment I appreciate most - 27:50 I saw both most tours but was deeply saddened Bill Ward was not present. THE 'Black Sabbath' is one of the things I've wanted to experience most in my life. I'm the youngest of 5 by 9 years, born in 1970 and first heard Black Sabbath when I was likely 3 but certainly by age 4 when my brother would play it, Sabbath and The Phantom of the Paradise (saw it when I was 4 as well) are both woven tightly into the fabric of my being.

I remember when my old band were used as the music for an advert for the Manchester vs cancer gigs, our song was played on piccadilly radio about 100 times a day, it was amazing, it was only a few seconds but I thought we'd made it right then, we hadn't and I wash lorries for a living

This is great stuff, but please let Oz finish a thought. I realize you have to keep things moving, and I know he may stammer here and there as he tries to recall stuff from 40-50 years ago, but interrupting him throws off what he was digging for which could be GOLD. Edit it later if it gets drawn out!

What upsets me most about that situation is that they refused to offer Bill an equal percentage. Bill was paid the same as the roadies on some of the reunion tours. He was treated like a hired hand.

I used the Black Sabbath song on Halloween to scare the kids who came trick or treating. Once we lived adjacent to an old family cemetery so I sat up a boom box with it playing in the woods and little girls were scared silly. It was great!

Respect to Ozzy for recognizing the significance of Bill's absence. I saw three quarters of Black Sabbath on the 13 tour and honestly, I was disappointed. I wanted to see Bill, Geezer, Tony and Ozzy. So much so that I wasn't gonna buy a ticket. I caved a few days before the show and bought a ticket. Hopefully Ozzy gets his wish though and the four of them get together at least one last time.

Agreed, but the last twenty years or so, sadly Bill was really unable to properly play the songs, I saw BS at Roskilde in 99 i think, or 98, the first reunion. Bill was terrible and not able to execute the simplest fills. Very unfortunate. If he can do it, im all for it. Of course

@@TheLordGoat Thanks for your comment bro! I may have been a bit hard on Geezer and Tony and Ozzy over the years. As if they were the reason Bill wasn’t playing with them. A bit of context allows me to choose my words a bit more wisely from now on. Cheers!

@@JohnnyKeatonWilson I was the same until i saw it for myself. I doubt it'll ever happen sadly. Perhaps, an album but shows doubtful. If only Bill could back to mid-1970.

It's so good to hear Ozzy talk about the days. Black Sabbath changed my life. It was the first music that I really loved with a passion. My big brother played the Sabotage album for me when it came out. I was 6 years old at the time and I instantly fell in love. He put a full C90 casette with only "Symptom of the Universe" and "The Writ" over and over. I played it constantly and my same age friends though I was totaly crazy :)

I was born when Black Sabbath was recording the first album. Ozzy has been with me for my entire life! My first albums, that I owned, were from the Beatles, and Black Sabbath. And both bands have been incredibly important, in the music I "write" ("concoct" would, probably, be more accurate), and my life in general. And, I often try to imagine what the first guy (it had to be a guy) who bought "Black Sabbath" thought, when he started playing it. The first song is about being chased by Satan! The music is appropriately scary! Nothing anywhere close to that had been done, before. Thank you, Ozzy, Tony, Geezer, and Bill! You've made my life more enjoyable, and more interesting, than it would've been without you!
