I was born and bred in Birmingham (England),and lucky enough to have seen them numerous times with all their various line ups and and they have always been amazing live..... especially during the Dio era. Its difficult to say which s my favorite album because they have made some bangers over the years but this is probably it for me. Forgive me if you already have, but you really should check out " Lonely is the word " off of this.....blues rock at its best.....even Tony Iommi said it was his favourite solo......who am i to argue.....great reaction again👍

Lonely is the word is massively underrated and is Bill Wards favourite track on this album. Bill left the band shortly after the tour but in interviews he always says he loves that song.

I'm willing to bet that most people think that Crazy train is Ozzy solo, but it's not. The band was called Blizzard of Ozz but Sharon Osborne somehow got Ozzy's name larger than the bands and then she managed to work the rest of the band out. Ozzy had no real input into those albums it was the rest of the band who did all the creative stuff. Read For facts sake, by Bob Daisley. You'll find it very interesting and you'll see how Bob and the rest of the band were ripped off.

That one I can sort of see it as Ozzy was the draw and designwise the logo worked.

One of Sabbath's secrets is Geezer's very melodic style but the added power and sophistication of Dio and the subtle synths of Geoff Nicholls knock this up to 'Legendary'. The last track on the album is beautifully melodic.

I always really liked Dio era Sabbath! I disregarded it for years.. it never really interested me because I always thought of Sabbath as being Ozzy on vocals. But when I started exploring post Ozzy Sabbath I found myself really liking a lot of it. Kind of the same as when I started listening to all the other "Mks" of Deep Purple rather than just the classic Mk 2 lineup. I see each "Mk" is like a whole new band to explore. Much as I love Blackmore, I found out I absolutely loved Mk IV with Tommy Bolin.. "Come Taste the Band" is a funk-rock masterpiece! I would love to hear you guys react to some of the tracks from that album, like "Gettin' Tighter" or "Lady Luck" maybe. But in regards to Sabbath, I think both "Heaven and Hell" and "Mob Rules" are both fantastic.. "Live Evil" also. All quite different to earlier material, of course, almost like a different band in some ways, but definitely stand alone in their own light. I actually really loved the album with Ian Gillan "Born Again" also.. I think there's some great material on it. I have the Deluxe with a live recording on the second disc. Not certain but it may have been the Donington show. The album with Glenn Hughes "Seventh Star" isn't bad either! Best wishes. 😊

Not only are they metal, but Black Sabbath have a very strong claim to have invented the genre. Personally, the Dio era is my favourite. As iconic as Ozzy is, Dio is a far better singer, and I prefer the sound that metal had evolved into by the end of the 70s to that of the start.

They really don't have a claim to have invented Heavy Metal, bands like Iron Butterfly, Coven, Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple were all around first.

The new beginning with Ronnie james Dio on vocals, a proper rock track. He saved the day put new life into the band .This is probably the best song on the album of the same name "Neon night s" is the opener is barnstorming. Tony iomi's riffs sound a bit more cleaner on this album slightly less dirty and opened the door to more rock bands especially in the states and especially the follow up album "Mob rules " .Black Sabbath are probably the most incredible heavy rock of all time with out them no Metallica, Soundgarden, ect The first proper band I ever got into at the age of 7 and that it is very young in 1978

Both Ozzy era and Dio era of Sabbath were great in my opinion. Im a little partial to Ozzy era because I grew up on it. Dio was great though. I never recall them being called Heaven and hell though

Dio and Sabbath got back together in I think 2006? Could be wrong. But they renamed to Heaven and Hell and released a banger of an album called "The Devil You Know"!
