This show might be the best I've ever seen in terms of writing and exploring complex, nuanced relationships. Platonic, romantic, sexual, business, familial- they're the masters of it all.

You might have noticed a new actor playing Dufresne, the guy with the glasses. Sadly the original actor, Jannes Eiselen, was diagnosed with a form of brain cancer and died not long after his performance in season 1. RIP Jannes Eiselen.

Flint and Silver work so well together even though they are a complete opposite in so many ways. Silver acts only on self interest and is a very comedic type character while Flint is super intense/serious and tries to achieve something for all the pirates. It shouldn't really work yet it's so entertaining everytime they are toghether and this is only just the start. The scene when Flint yells " what the fuck did you think was gonna happen" was so good lol

That is one eye from Vikings. The one that Rollo killed with a spear. It was in the season 2 episode 1 of that show.

Pls try to keep the way you kind of analyze what's going on and the characters, it's cool to watch. Bc very often people get angry about decisions and then act like they don't make sense even though they do for these characters (for instance Flint killing Gates)

Here we go !! Man ur in for such a great story, where the build up on season 1 was slow season 2 starts hard and fast and finishes harder, I think my fav episode is episode 3 and along with the finale on season 2 , also the pirate with white eye is actually based off real pirate in history too what I love about this series is it uses a lot of history

Yeahhhh I think right now Silver's only goal is the Urca gold, same as Flint. That's why they make such a good team, they both know where the other one stands.

Season 2 is where the show becomes Black Sails, it fucking great.

I burst a gut laughing when Flint's voice broke from exasperation, "Well, what the fuck did you think was going to happen?!" The pirate at the beginning was Ned Low, one of the most vicious and sadistic pirates in history. Fun fact: the actor who plays him also only has one eye, so his portrayal of Low makes it even more accurate.

I have never watched Black Sails, but you are encouraged to watch it. You're great for this series :)

I'm on season 3 of black sails after being told about it from another KZfaq reaction channel but season 2 is awesome. This show is slowly turning into one of my favorites and I'm glad I finally found out who I look like. One day at work a kid came up to me and said I looked like an actor from a show about pirates. He said hi and then when I said hi back he said ok youre not him. He said you wouldve sounded like you smoked for days. The kid said I look like Charles vane.

Silver:"so I really have to fight them" Flint:"WELL WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU THING WAS GOING TO HAPPEN" Honestly one of my favorite moments that helps define Flint and Silvers relationship. Your going to love flashbacks the're a bit slow but there where you'll get your answers, if you pay close attention you might figure it out (I did't and mind blown).

The new guy Ned is like the pirate from nightmares willing to do everything he can killing, slaughtering, kidnaping, etc...to get what he wants. Using ultimate terror as strategy. Before watching Black Sails, I thought the pirates on the show were all going to be like him. But now we get the genuine article. BTW Carly, I don't know if you noticed but the guy with the glasses that did the mutiny is not the same actor of last season. When I watched it I instantly noticed cause I liked the face of the last actor and don't like the face of the new one. So I quickly went to see on Wikipedia to learned what happened and it said that between seasons, the other actor basically died of cancer and they had to recast.

I love the flashbacks for Flint cuz it gives you an idea what he was like before somewhat tiny bits of it Bonnie and Max kissing that was intense but hilarious at the same time you just waiting patiently for them to do that silver he's a good schemer but man he slowly becoming friends with her Flint and he's only good intentions and trying to do good intentions for Flint Jack freaking out in that one scene after he got beat up I love the song at the very end of the episode it's very cool that dude scar on his eye that keeps killing people brutally I don't like them either I never liked them very intense beginning of the episode
