I don't think Miranda was particularly furious about the choice Ashe made specifically. She was infuriated that he wanted to hide in the shadows with his sins and throw Flint under the bus while staying safe with his reputation untouched. It seemed unjust that he'd shove everything on Flint and expect him to confess his story, while not doing so himself. He acted like a coward, in my opinion, to save face and give Flint to the wolves.

I love how we've had a handful scenes with with the asian dude with the katana, no name, not a single word of dialog from him, and we all love him. Because "SAMURAI!!!"

I loved his interaction with Flint in season 4. Damn... what a sword fight and while he wasn't in the show much that fight is all you needed to see to understand his character and some of his motives. Very well written.

The hype you all have every episode now is why Black Sails fans have been waiting SO LONG to see you react to this show. I don't think I've ever seen Rick so engaged and excited for a series and all you guys are enthralled, it's fantastic to watch. And as always, IT GETS BETTER.

It's interesting how we, as the audience, were afraid of how the pirates would act in front of the noble members of civilization (whether Vane and Flint's crews fighting would strengthen the belief that pirates are monsters) when it turns out that members of civilization are the ones who show what monsters they are and the pirates act nobly to defend their brother. Very well written.

15:10 - Flint originally wanted the treasure so that Nassau could become self-sufficient and prosper on its own, without having to rely on the empires of the world. Strengthen the pirates' navy, build up its infrastructure, etc. I think the only difference between that original plan and the Governor Ashe plan was that the latter would recognize Nassau as a legitimate state by nations of the world.

@yunagfs I know your comment is super old but I agree with you on that, but mainly just Shane. Like when Anne wondered how her life might have been better if Jack hadn't found her and he said she was being dumb. Or when Max and Eleanor are plotting and conspiring, he constantly criticises them. Yet he praises the men for thinking similar things, murdering, stealing, backstabbing, etc. Definite double standards for him. Eric and Aaron, not as much but definitely Shane

22:55 late but same thought why does everyone hate Eleanor so much. What she's doing is pretty much what's everyone doing even though she makes dumb mistakes often here and there. Also if Vane had thought more long-term from the start with Abigail then lowkey they'd be in the same side and the richard guthrie mess would've been unnecessary. At the end, Vane (saw reason with what Billy said) and sided with Flint anyways

Yes, but if Miranda had kept her mouth shut until the deal was done. Her timing could not have been any worse! I side with Miranda, but understand Ashe. I do understand why she was angry. I think I would have preferred it if you had left the moment of Miranda's death unedited. That sound effect you added makes it seem too comical. It was unnecessary and distracting.
