I think theres a theory where we are just recalling memories and that everything is pre destined but the trailblazer is that one character that can change fate. Like how maybe Belebog was meant to stay under the rule of Cocolia and subsequently a brainwashed bronya. Where Phantylia was supposed to succeed and Jing Yuan die that moment. And for Penacony maybe it is fated for someone to die but the trailblazer stops it. This game's themes heavily imply that we need to carve our own path that isn't predetermined with the MC. One of the literal quotes of the MC is literally "Rules are meant to be broken"

I agree with Firefly being Sam. My theory to farther that, is Firefly knows us (Trailblazer MC) from before we wiped our memory, and that we were great close friends. So she spends a lot of time with us trying to be friends with us again, but her job calls upon her to act as a Stellaron Hunter and that gets Acheron's attention. That scene of Firefly falling is her saying her final goodbye to her friend (Trailblazer MC) before donning the mech suit. My theory and 2c cents.

My interpretation of the trailer: "A dazzling item. Are you looking for its owner? Allow me to divine, using your "memories" as a medium" A staff member had a lost item and Black Swan offered to help find who was the owner for. She does this by peering into the staff's memories and seeing how the staff came upon the item. The teaser then cuts to sequences that represent the staff's memories, which Black Swan also uses to explore and experience Penacony. By doing so, Black Swan determined that the lost item's owner was Robin, who was holding the items in the staff's memories. The memories finally cut to the moment when the staff stumbled upon the lost items, which is also when a sudden explosion occurred. Surprised and shocked by the explosion, Black Swan tried to explore the scene of the explosion, but the memories ended before she could get a closer look, the memories then shattering into pieces of different characters. Analysis: Black Swan, as a member of the Garden of Recollection, has the natural ability to directly view past events. It seems that Black Swan's abilities allow her not only to see the memories of the past, she even enter these memories and directly spectate them as if she were there. "The truth does not lie, neither do memories. Predestined paths already converged... She has arrived." Surprised and shocked by the explosion, Black Swan tried to explore the scene of the explosion, but the memories ended before she could get a closer look, the memories then shattering into pieces of different characters. Most interestingly, there was a slow-mo panning shot over Acheron, which might suggest Black Swan was interested in her particularly. Anyways, Black Swan exits the memories, still a little surprised by the sudden explosion she experienced in the memories, before telling the staff that the owner of the lost item will arrive, showing him a card of Robin to help the staff identify who the owner is. As the staff goes to hand Robin her lost item, which Robin showed up to find, Black Swan looks through her sets of cards, representing all the major characters that will be playing a role in Penacony's story, with Duke Inferno's card burning away. Analysis: The present is made up of events that occur in the past, and the future is thus made up of actions made in the present. If one knows the past, then a prediction of the future can be made. It is likely this is how Black Swan "divines" the future. By directly viewing events of the past with a broader lens than anyone person, she can draw connections to moments that have occur in the present, and by doing so, predict the future. "That menacing inferno fire absorbed by the vast, profound sea. And that sea... surprisingly, dwells on the planet of festivities." Analysis: This was Black Swan's prediction. A prophecy so to speak. The "menacing inferno" most likely refers to Duke Inferno, as he is a literal fire who is part of the destruction gang. He is also the card that disappeared right before Black Swan said the line, so there is little reason to not believe the line refers to Duke Inferno. So according to Black Swan's prediction, Ifrit will be "absorbed" by a "profound sea" which "dwells on the planet of festivitiess." Interesting how Black Swan uses the word "absorbed" here. Ifrit's card burning away suggests that he would die, but "absorbed" suggests that Ifrit's end is not simply death, as he also is taken in by something. This something is, according to Black Swan, a "profound sea" that "dwells on the planet of festivities". So whatever that is going to absorb Ifrit will be someone/something native to Penacony, as Black Swan states that it "dwells on the planet of festivities". Penacony, as we know, is run by The Family, which are followers of Xipe, or the Harmony. Given the fact that Harmony is a path that promotes uniting differences and having one collective mindset, then it is most likely that the "profound sea" that is "absorbing" the "menacing inferno" is the Family. It simply fits the motif of Harmony followers as to take in something that is initially opposed to them. So in other words, according to Black Swan's prediction, Ifrit will end up being absorbed by the Family.

And whoever kills/killed him, is currently ON Penacony.

Her last line makes it sound like Duke Inferno might die ( a fire being absorbed by the sea? ). I feel like the writing team is trying to trick us into thinking the main antagonists will be the Annihilation Gang (and the Annihilation Gang thinks they are the main baddies too) but maybe everyone is walking into a trap by being invited to Penacony and there's something bigger going on than just the Annihilation Gang?

I mean the card that burned away pictured Duke Inferno. Plus the voice line only hints at Black Swan knowing Duke Inferno is at Penacony.

I agree with that one commenter in the stream i also think FF is a red herring and i think the twist is that yes she is infact Sam however that is she's a distraction to someone else's and I've heard/seen a few theories however this trailer gets me somewhat on board if you want to know..... look below. . . . . . I think Robin's is the one going to die and the cards at the end also points to both of the theories I've said the Spotlight is on FF so that the shadow is covering something else.

The game's gotten so much publicity that the Devs who took over it's development ended up Pulling it and just going completely dark, likely because of a Particular Ending in Chapter 2. On a more Historical note, the Royal Navy actually did have a Class of Sloops-of-war known as the Black Swan-class with the lead ship being HMS Black Swan. I know they're willing to kill off characters (Tingyun) who are still playable, but I really hope Sam/Firefly doesn't die. Especially because it looks like thew Trailblazer will be partnering with them throughout this story, and I kinda want to know if you'll be buddies with them post Stellaron hunter reveal. You're already buddies with Silverwolf and are important to Kafka.

i think firefly is a character from the mcs past, someone who is already dead. since penacony is the land of dreams the mc either may be reminiscing old memories or creating a dream where they spend time together doing normal things like eating all the foods and going sightseeing. But in the end she fades away into the pixels while the mcs back is towards her in the white night mv. OR someone could have created firefly to get close to mc for an ulterior motive.
