Only Nureyev could add himself into the Black Swan pas de deux as Rothbart and steal the show from Siegfried 😂 I really liked the element that he was the puppet master of the whole thing. What a legend he was, right to the end.

Isabelle Guerin, one of the greatest ballerinas of the French Opera Ballet, dances the Black Swan. Nureyev was so illl then and All his Swans went Black Lilith on him. Yet Isabelle was his greatest partner, I believe, because of her total perfection and dedication and loyalties, and her great technique to this day is about Rudolf's greatest moments, when he danced with a goddess of dance, Isabelle Guerin

Isabelle Guerin c est magnifique " action danse " superbes mouvements enchaines , rythme et technique . Un style apparente a celui de M C Pietragalla C est a voir absolument .

Nureyev has this extraordinary charisma and aura, so even sick and diminished, he was still grandiose in this character role. Isabelle Guerin is a firering , intense, evil, seductive and so perfect odile black swan. But where comes this just “nice” looking prince from? Really embarrassing solos, when the orchestra has to cut the music to adjust to his poor performance,... well, he stayed only one year, at the Paris Opera Ballet,...

Isabelle que gran bailarina de la Opera de París, mientras Rudolf era el director. Nureyev bailo con ella, pero Rudolf ya estaba enfermo..¡ Una pena para todos los admiradores de esta Joya de bailarin.

Personally, I find this staging offensive. First he pushes Rothbart into the PDD, completely taking focus away from the two leads... just so he can get more stage time. Second, Rudi casts someone as Siegfried who should been in the corps just because he was attracted to him. It's extremely unfair to his experienced dancers... no wonder many of them were happy to see Rudy go as Director of the Paris Opera.

I agree on the awkward choreography for Rothbart in the PDD, it distracted from the soloists.

Siegfried was technically very strong and esthtetically pleasant to look at. They might have been better make dancers at that time, but Prince should be young, handsome and fresh. It all was present. Rothbard of Nuriyev was awkwardly ridiculous...

No, no fue su última actuación La última fue haciendo el papel de Carabosse de La Bella Durmiente , en 1992, y creo que fue en Berlín. También en Budapest hizo el papel de Ángel en un Ballet llamado Cristoforo, pero creo que el de Berlín fue el último.

I saw him dance in 1989 in Los Angeles with several dancers including Lynn Seymour. He got a terrible review BUT I remember the show and he was amazing (so was Seymour performing Ashton's Brahms Waltzes in the style of Isadora Duncan). Brilliant.

Music is awful and screechy, but I REALLY like this idea. It clarifies the deception enormously.

I was in class with him between 1978 and 1981, with M. Raymond Franchetti in Paris. May be he ougth to but now it is too late. He can not answer us. Have a nice afternoon.

I knew him well. A difficult personality but a great artist. Beryl Grey was a Director of ROH or London Festival Ballet.
