In this episode we talk about COMBO and COMBO HERO, a heavy plastic MOTU knock off toy line. The figures are based on various REMCO and MATTEL parts, and feature 10 different standard characters with numerous variations, based on 80's pop culture.

Can you shed any light on the later "Combo Warriors" line that was distributed by a company called Ja-Ru in the early 90's?

My video is older than the discovery of Ja-Ru's "Combo Warriors," which is why the topic wasn't covered. There have also been many more wrestler related COMBO discoveries made since this video was made. Combo Warriors was originally a term that Lucas Relleke coined to give some context to COMBO figures, grouping them with Galaxy Warriors. This was long before either of us knew about Ja-Ru's "Combo Warriors" product, which first released in 1994 long after the first run of COMBO. As far as COMBO WARRIORS go, there's not much to say. The line appears to be the same as COMBO HERO, and the re-run is similar to what E-Toys did... way later rerun. The latest Wrestler COMBO style figures that were found are simply country variants of the wrestler shown at the beginning of this video. There are now extensive bootleg wrestler figure databases/forums online.

Growin up poor my bro & i KNEW a lot of our figs would be k/o,s ,so our He-Mans always had a crew of monstrous back-up.Bless Sungold & all the other shoddy sources we had back then.

I had the Eagle-Man figure as a kid. I knew it wasn't part of He-man but it looked like it could have been part of it so I liked it.

Okay, this video solves a mystery that's been bugging me for some time now. I make my own MOTU KO/bootlegs and I've unknowingly been using a version of the Combo body at 5:40 as my basic buck body since all the pieces are solid and the ball and socket joints are easy to mold in silicone and flawlessly snap together once casted in flexible resin. I just had no idea which series amongst the endless ocean of bootleg He-Man toys my original figure had come from up until now. Cheers!

Just found your channel because I have a lot of these figures at my parents house that I picked up at dollar stores in the mid 90s and was trying figure out what the heck they are. I have a dark pigment skinned Hulka and just purchased a White pigment skinned Mr. X off eBay. When the pandemic calms down I plan on visiting and bringing my figures with me when I leave.

Now I have a load of Combo Warriors in my ebay watch list, when I should be saving money for me and my wife's holiday. As a kid in the 80's I remember having an 'the evil' figure in light purple skin and yellow hair and my 'Satana' figure was the same as yours featured here with the head colours but mine had a red coloured body. I'm from the UK, so if you have any knowledge on what series my figures came from I'd be grateful

I love this stuff. I wonder why they stop using these bodies for more bootlegs? All I see now is the Toy Biz mold, you know? The one used for Angel from the X-Men...

Sheesh, these are really quite something, huh. I suppose recycling the one body over and over and over again _would_ save a lot of cost. The heads are just hilarious. Robo seems to have some distant similarity to Han Solo, too...

It's weird that they seem good for bootlegs. Not like bootlegs of today. Also, a little bit of trivia, in Spain, She-hulk is called Hulka 😀

When I first started researching this line, it was so confusing that the HULKA name wasn't associated with any of the green figures that look somewhat like the Hulk. And too bad this line doesn't have female versions!

They are pretty easy to find in random He-Man lots, and are often mis-listed as wrestlers. Depending on condition, they can be as cheap as $8, or as expensive as $80 depending on what it is, and the condition. The Robo, Satana, and Unicorna figures seem to be the most popular/easy to sell.

Nice vid man, but man oh man did The Evil look like hot garbage. Those puffy checks might have worked if he was some sort of poison spiting lizard but with flesh-color it just looks goofy as all hell.
