Black, white & teal! Collaboration with @Mixed Media Girl where we both use only those 3 colors but in our own styles. It just so happened that we both thought to blow on this one without knowing what the other had done :)

- 30"x15" level 3 canvas from Michael's
- Artist Loft Ready-mixed pouring paint in Turquoise
- Artist Loft flow acrylic in white & black
- DecoArt satin enamels in black (tiny amount)
- DecoArt pouring medium
- Water to consistency

I watch videos, get inspired and head to my basement...too lazy to go upstairs and change clothes! It throws off my groove! Aprons help, which I keep in my art area. This turned out great!

That came out just the way I wanted it to ! Lovely. I saw a dragon head blowing out some teal flames in there. Also geodes . very pretty.

Mely I LOVE to watch you paint...you can FEEL your thoughts and emotions. Hearing your thought processes out loud really helps people like me learn to problem solve when we are painting and hitting a brick wall with what we HOPED we would get and what we actually DO get. You just made my day. When I make long videos like these and I listen to myself after I often think, wow, I talk too much. People will get so bored... and a lot are, BUT then there are people like you who love it and it helps them and when you tell me.... it really makes me feel like I'm doing the right thing. @@MelyDartist please don't ever change your style.... I hear myself in you sometimes. I worry and I stress too much over it... but I am absolutely a newbie and LOVE learning from other established fluid artists such as you (and MMG, just to name one other). I would have never ever attempted to try this if not for your "simple is best" series/motto. I hope you know how you inspire people - you truly do!! You are an intuitive painter and I strive for that. I wish I was able to paint right now.... my health situation has kept me from it and I ACHE to be in my art room. Videos like yours keep me going and pushing through. I may not comment often, sometimes I just put videos on autoplay and watch while I'm getting my infusions. Oh, Melissa!!! The gamut of emotions as I watched this was a roller coaster. I was so upset when it started reacting in the cup, then marbled the whole thing. no bueno. But you knew exactly what would fix it and it is even better than I thought it could be!! Michael's should give you a commission for all the paint they will sell now! I cannot wait to try this "old school MelyD style"!!!!

Fascinating is the perfect word! It does have a beautiful combination feel of scuba diving and an ocean arial view, one of my all time favorites! (and I'm really critical lol) I did have a cringe going after phase 1... but a big sigh of relief when you called it! Then the anticipation and suspense of.....Can she save this?!!! Not just a save, but a HOME RUN! Yay! I do like how you left some of the original pour, the busyness of it actually created a nice contrast, and in itself became a negative space. Beautiful work!

Teal!!!!! Woooooohooooooo!!! You do such a great job...seriously! Especially seeing you fix it when you right away realized you didn't like it, and got something amazing out of it!! So when it's on it's side, with all the beautiful effects, can't believe how many close up, it's almost like the inside of a geode...and then when you showed it where the top would be the white part...love that...it's almost like a side view through waves in the ocean, splashing out in the white, then inside the wave, then down into the deep :) Very cool!!! Thanks a ton!!!! :)🥰

WAY more time then I'd like to admit I get over excited about trying something right then and start before changing into messy clothes or my apron...I've got paint all over my glasses and water bottle and odd blue chunks of hair sometimes 😆😊all is fun though! I super appreciate your work and efforts! Once things get better job wise I hope to buy a painting one day too :) just awesome:) thanks again!!🥰

It's amazing the way we pour with an idea... it takes on a life of it's own and becomes something different. I love this medium. A beautiful painting that i would hang vertically with black end down. Well done!

I think I bought the same high priced Artists Loft paint set you did. They work great with one another. Not so much with other brands as you found out. I really enjoyed watching this creation. I was watching your progress and thinking just like you, until you decided to add some puddles to fix it up. Good on you. I would have scrapped it and started over. That is why you are the creative pro you are.

This is so stunning and teal is a great choice with black & white! So much to see here, I could look at it for hours. So I have to mention, I have a "Be Strong & Back Away" tee shirt that is dedicated to painting, because I am so messy. Amazingly, it has no paint on it yet! But I just ordered another; the sentiment really does fit many experiences. I think I'll wear it to the grocery store to encourage social distancing! LOL!

Wow, I love this! ❤️ You are amazing Melissa, how you turned a disaster into a masterpiece. Yes, truly fascinating, all the details with the fractals and cells. I particularly like the two black spots which somehow intensify the teal, while balancing the business of the centre with the quietness of the two sides. Fabulous! 💕

Btw, soak clothing in vinegar if you get paint on them. Might have to do it a few times depending on how long the paint was allowed to dry...it works. Then launder as usual

Mely, I've been watching you and Mixed Media Girl for a few years now. You inspired me to start painting. I can only hope to be as good as the 2 of you.
