An excellent job working with light and shadow to create form rather than using lines to create hard edges. It was a pleasure to watch this wonderful work being created.

I feel that's the one area he added very little detail although it could have been his intent to draw focus to the face. Although with Scarlett Johansen It's hard not to be drawn to her face.

Pretty nice work. I do portraits in pencil, charcoal and oils. Though I don’t block out a rough sketch for a drawing. I just draw straight from the subject. There are some advantages to your method but it does take longer. You will need white pencils and some erasing.

Incredible. It looks as if the artist is initially blocking in the shading and the outline at the same time....almost like sculpting.

sheana2005 its called Blocking!!!!!!!! Using straight lines (10-15) and some time zigzagging when it comes to figure drawing!!!!! The artist has some serious academic formation
