Should have been even then red , until she fights like cap which surprises but red recognizes the challenge in a fun nod to his earlier statement being true but ultimately losing since she would switch between shield bashes/ricochet and claw slashes/punches kicks from cap and tchallas skill sets which would be scary, cap and black Panthers movesets sheeesh

I want this combined with the other captain america rematch comment. Have taskmaster using captain America's moves and the redguardian actually getting the upper hand so he has that 'victory'. Then things start to swing in taskmaster's favor as moves are being copied and used against him.

This scene really disappointed me. Imagine if Taskmaster used the shield more and clearly used Captain America’s fighting style. Red Guardian would notice this and finally get his chance to fight “Captain America”

After being treated like a joke for the whole film, this was Red Guardian's *one* moment to do something cool and show us what he's capable of... and we got a fight lasting less than one minute where he didn't even land a single hit. This should've started off with Taskmaster directly mirroring RG's fighting style, making them perfectly even until it becomes obvious that RG's super soldier abilities give him the edge - maybe TM lands the first couple of hits but he shrugs them off more easily than expected, and then he's able to hurl TM across the room. So at that point TM starts pulling out all the other heroes' moves to regain the advantage, including Black Panther, Black Widow etc, and maybe even finishing the fight with Cap's moves so that he's poetically beaten by his 'rival'.

@God That will be bad, i get it.. Russia did bad things, but we forget, when US do the same, just like 5x in last 20 years.... And we don't cancel US characters and don't sanction them.... It's not excuse Russian government, but Russian culture, poeple are innocent too. I think, after this War in Ukraine ends, it stabilise and they bring back Russian characters as well. Russia is still to much needed for global economy and just like Russia, even west can't hold extreme sanctions too long. Russia is not Iran, or KLDR, or Palestina, or Venezuela. Russia is like 20 times stronger than they are together in economy and power charts.

The fact that Redguardian was so wasted in this fight. Being a super soldier whos fighting style taskmaster didn't recognise would give him the chance to have the advantage until his moves were learned and reflected back at him (you know taskmasters whole thing) would add some more fear to the combat prowess of the villain while giving redguardian a chance to actually fight "Captain America" or at least someone that has the ability to fight just like him.

Yea he’s not at his best in this movie, since he was out of the game for a couple of years and probably drank too much beer so he didn’t maintain his fighting skills or fitness. He’s also missing his iconic shield from the comics (it’s essentially Captain America’s shield but entirely red with a larger white star in the middle). I’m waiting for the Thunderbolts movie where hopefully he’s in better shape (would be funny to see him interact with Yelena and Taskmaster again, as well as Bucky).

@@soko9984 to be fair he was in prison for a long-ass time so he didn’t really get to maintain his skills apart from maybe a very occasional prison fight, and he prob drank too much beer or smth since his physical fitness is way off here (he only kept his strength because of the serum). He’ll prob be a lot better in the Thunderbolts movie.

@@ResidentialEvil Red Guardian might have been physically stronger (ie. would win an arm wrestle or tug-of-war contest), but he lacks form and technique, and you can see his fighting skills have clearly degraded over the years (being incarcerated in prison for who knows how long). While Taskmaster has the abilities of all the greatest fighters and warriors on Earth. Yes, there are clearly people who don't grasp the concept, just not the one you are thinking of. Strength alone only gets you so far. Oh and to point out, Taskmaster does actually possess super strength, via the chip her neck iirc, so even if you want to argue that point, it still wouldn't work.

This is not taskmaster. Taskmaster is a super badass in the comics that wil go toe to toe with pretty much any non super powered fighter in the marvel universe. He is literally one of the best fighters there is as he knows and masters EVERYONES fighting styles.

Taskmaster is a confessed coward and has been since his first appearance when he fought the Avengers. In one of his better stories it was also revealed he had no long term memory due to his abilities and completely under the control of a mysterious spy. Sound familiar? And imitating does not always mean beating. Heck in the comics Black Widow is one of the few characters he ia geuinely afraid of. He frankly loses more then he wins. He is entertaining but the internet really overhyped him.

Red Guardian didn't hit a single punch. Damn, okay that Taskmaster fights better, and alright that Red Guardian is out of shape, but at least give him some feats of raw strength during a fight, like punching through walls or laughing while being beaten, even if he must miss his target every time.

If i Directed this, Guardian woulda got punished enough to spit blood, even cut up by TMs claws. But he'd send TaskMaster through at least 3 walls in retaliation via body slams, punches, and throws. Like you hit him hard, Guardian is definitely hurting, but he hits back 3x harder because he a brawler. Red would then dent TMs shield with a serious uppercut, then TaskMaster would start using firearms to compensate because Red Guardian is THAT fucking dangerous. THEN homegirl can come in with the assist-- and then they take em down with a sick ass coordinated pincer move with homegirl doing some crazy ass h2h action & Guardian comes around snatching Taskmaster up & slamming em 3feet into the concrete in the floor. Homegirl widow stings TM until they can barely get them into the cell Guardian would be hurt like shit, we see the damage but he's not made to look helpless. Especially when he's supposed to be a Russian Cap. Anything like that would've been better than this.

Generally speaking, most people believe that Red Guardian is a weak character due to this scene. Reminder, Red Guardian isn’t weak. Movies and Comics the Red Guardian as a beast and is one of the most powerful experiments via Hydra. He may have lost, or completely lost in this brawl, the Red Guardian is incredibly strong and durable, as seen throughout his existence. But reminder, this is Taskmaster, a weapon in the body of a human, kinda like MODOK. Regardless if Red Guardian has far more strength and durability skills, he didn’t stand a chance in the first place. They had to nerf him because if this was more comically accurate Red Guardian, the fight would’ve ended quicker.

Red Guardian and bucky got the same treatment in the MCU...nerfing them to the point the audience forgets they both got the super soldier serum, Wouldn't be surprised if US agent got nerfed too in Thunderbolts I know their serums aren't as perfect as Captain America's serum But they're super soldiers too With similar capabilities of Cap They shouldn't be nerfed like that Marvel shouldn't use Bucky's PTSD and Red Guardian's weight as an excuse to nerf them.

they spoiled the red guardian character. during the introduction of the film, I really liked its serious side. when we find him, we had to give him the role of the comic on duty (it was really not necessary). it disappointed me a lot.

Imagine they would've used the real Taskmaster and had him fight like he does. No way any one of the cast could have beaten him in a 1v1. So they would have actually needed to come up with something to defeat him in a outside the box kind of way.
