I went on an interview yesterday and they asked me what my husband did for a living and if I had children. Is this because I am black? I don't know. We had completed a phone interview before the in-person meeting, but they're eagerness to hire me seemed to change after we met. Maybe my husband's profession was too lucrative or they were afraid I would have kids on their dime because, although very impressed with me [they said], I wasn't hired.
