98cc gets faster with two free mods!
Removed the governor and advanced the timing on the 98cc Coleman-powered Rascal minibike. Did a top speed and zero to thirty run to see if the modifications made a difference in performance.

You what I'd like to see? A direct comparison between a HF 79cc and the GPS 98cc. They are rated the same but one is 20cc's more. Maybe run them on the same bike? Will a steel 79cc cam fit in a 98cc? will an aluminum 79cc fly wheel fit on a 98cc? etc

I did the same mod except the timing advance. At top speed it feels like 40mph! I know because I have two Taco 100b's they will do 45mph stock zero mods! Excellent video! Thank you for helping the mini bike community and its viewers out!

@@DiegoHernandez-pu6ps I don't know how fast a stock one is, I never used the 98cc engine, dropped a 212cc Predator in it, geared @ 12/60 it does 41 mph with the governor still in it and a 210 lb rider.

The amount of times you pull side covers off you should get one of those vacuum oil drainers, they are awesome.

I have a 98cc on my Mega Moto... Could not really find any serious aftermarket support aside from a factory cam that gets reground along with a little head work. I bet if the aftermarket support is there these little 98cc motors could hit 7-8hp @ 9000 rpm. I would seriously build one. Be nice to see billet rods, stroker kits, big bore options etc...

Recently did the governor delete on 3hp ct100u and noticed the initial take off decreased maybe top ended increased but nothing too noticeable (never did any time runs). Now question did I do something wrong or was I expecting too much ? Sorry I’m fairly new

Can i ask, i see sometimes u put the cluth on, one way, and turn it around the other way? They go both way's? Cluth faceing either way? Does it turn diff,directions?

do you remember if that black washer that we under the pin on the governor arm shaft was rubber or nylon? I am trying to help with a neighbor kids gokart. Its leaking oil out of the top where that shaft is.

Dave, was that a cast iron flywheel, or aluminum? Any chance it'll break at higher rpm?

That was the stock cast flywheel in this video. it now has a billet flywheel in other videos. Always recommend a billet flywheel if you're gonna spin the engine past the governed speed.

in 75 my AMF harley davidson sportster had a Teflon tensioner on the primary chain. and my remington nylon 66 rifle had a nylon plastic bolt carrier. in the 60s. they have been using these white plastics a long time. wonder why they dont make them black like metal

The ghost 212 head and Lifan 7.5 from the mega moto 212 both have "ported" heads from the factory. Would you please test the heads back to back to see if there is any performance differences?

I have a mini bike but don’t know how to do governor bypass it’s a nz mini bike the engine looks similar but different looking governor be sick if you make a vid on the it the engine name is the (sc152f)

Not sure about the flywheel bolt, but he used quarter inch self tapping bolt.

The lite come with the 98cc and a smaller brake. There are so many options for these bikes.Its a great starter bike to build up.

@@Black66 I have the 98cc on my bicycle and the 100cc kit for my daughters bicycle both 4 stroke. 212 is to much I think. we use them for beach cruisers. Not trying to go faster just have power for lighting.
