Really? That's what i didn't like. I thought it took away from an otherwise beautiful blade. I can see why people would like it maybe, gives it rougher look, but I just thought the blade was so pretty, the black dents and stuff brought the aesthetics down quite a bit.

Hey Guys; going to post this in all the videos. Have to say lived these builds & was a HARD choice since we only get 1 vote. Would be better to have a 1, 2, and 3 choices since many channels have fewer subs but did great builds. That way there could be a bit more of an average top choices & determination of top 5 kind of challenge. @Tyrell Knifeworks got my vote but @Green Beetle, @Red Bears Ops, @Wengels Workshop were all right there at great builds for a 2 or 3 place fight.

awesome knife! I had trouble with coper castings and found out it was due to gasses being trapped in the liquid, I researched it a bit more and found that you can use borax or glass to de-gas it (this will shorten the life of your crucible), or phosphorus copper, it's used more in industrial settings, but can be purchased in the form of brazing/soldering rods (I've seen it called both by retailers, use very little, like a pea sized amount for really big melts) also, what tool is that you used to texture the guard? I know I've seen it somewhere else, either tool restoration/rust removal or something completely unrelated to our line of work
@BlackBeardProjects
@BlackBeardProjects 2 жыл бұрын
Right! I did use a bit of borax, I don't have much experience with copper cast but it worked out fine for what I need. The tool is a pneumatic needle scaler! Thanks!

Negatives Never been a fan of the open space/shank between blade & hilt/hand guard. Nor the unfinished raw metal look on blade surface. Unless it covers whole blade other than hollow ground part. So it looks uniform. Pluses Really love hilt/hand guard, & blade shape. Also like simple but elegant handle on this piece. To many guys would have felt they had to put a pummel of some sort on a knife this size. But this looks so sweet.

I know these are just for fun, but how are we supposed to pick a favourite? You are up against some dedicated knife channels. They might be more proficient at making the blades but your skills show beautifuly in the rest of the knife. No matter what I love this knife (sword?) It's always a pleasure to watch you work.

Hi! I like to watch cutlery videos, in fact, here in Brazil we have Alexandre Bigunas, if you don't know his channel I leave it here as a recommendation. There are also very good videos there, as well as here on your channel. Anyway, what I've been wanting to tell you for some time now is that there seems to be something wrong with your power hammer. It seems to have a lot of speed and little strength. Whenever I see you using it, it gives me agony, a lot of hammering and almost no effect. Sorry for this observation. It's been bothering me for some time. Congratulations for the channel and always continue with the excellent videos.

At the beginning, you choose to form the tang by hammering instead of cutting. This squeezes the material into a smaller area, while at the same time you are hammering the blade thinner, which spreads material over a larger area. Does this create an imbalance in density between the tang and the blade? If so, is this done on purpose to reinforce the tang for durability’s sake? Thanks! It’s a beautiful knife.
@garethbaus5471
@garethbaus5471 2 жыл бұрын
Modern steel is already as dense as it is ever going to be, so no. It might slightly alter the grain of the steel, but most of those changes won't be noticeable after heat treat.
