Fortunately people do associate him with Invictus but that Charity is no longer admired as he & Meghan made a mockery of a successful charity when they both became involved Large donors are no longer supporting it. That duo has made it all about themselves & used it as a cash cow. I couldn't be more disgusted than I now am even if I tried !! If you think he is worthy of anything you're totally deluded. Invictus should be looked at & other honorable patrons chosen. I would love to know why the Tax man hasn't scrutinized their accounts. Why are people afraid to take a stand. He now falls under the purview of William. The King instructed Prince William to sort out the M & H disaster. He has started by banning them from the Royal family. Very wise move!

@@alidabotes6264 what do you mean when "they" got involved? Prince Harry is the founder of the Invictus Games, he's been involved since the beginning. Yeah I've read there are people moaning about Meghan's involvement with Invictus but let's face it, (royalist) people would moan if she sneezed. Lol they'd probably moan about the colour of the handkerchief she used. The charity is still in high standing despite malicious rubbish being spread to say it isn't. Royalist people need to get a grip and move on. Constantly bleating daily about the comings and goings of two people they don't like. If u don't like someone, don't bother with them. Thankfully the widow of Pat Tillman, Marie, is fully behind Harry and Invictus getting this award and it's going ahead regardless of moaning and petitions. Thank god for good sense prevailing and no bowing to petty public pressure. And my final point is Harry will always remain a part of the royal family and one day I'm sure they'll reconcile and royalists will just have to accept it.

I am British and I stand with Mary Tillman. This award to Harry is an absolute disgrace. Mary Tillman should have been consulted about an award that bears her son's name. I have read about Pat Tillman and his sacrifice and this award has now been tainted because some individual decided that it should go to Prince Harry of all people. To compare Pat Tillman and Prince Harry in the same breath is an absolute insult to Pat Tillmans memory and to his mother and family. Harry is a shameless individual, whilst he did serve in the military, he has shown a complete lack of respect to those that served with him, to the point where his bragging has compromised their safety. He abandoned any thought of service and duty to his country, his family, continuing to trash them at any given opportunity, he does not know the meaning of sacrifice and to cap it all, out of his own mouth in his tawdry book is a self confessed drug user. I fully understand Mary Tillmans outrage.

My husband served in the US military for over 30 years, he & I were HORRIFIED that Harry was chosen for this award, as are many, many other veterans. Pat Tillman was SELFLESS. He loved his God, his country, and his family more than himself & gave up everything to serve & defend them. Harry has disrespected his country, his Commander in Chief, his family, the British people, his fellow servicemen AND the “chess pieces” he so callously brags about removing from the game. He is the polar opposite of Pat Tillman & “whoever” nominated him for that award has no understanding of duty & service and/or no respect for Pat’s family, his sacrifice, or his memory. I was absolutely sickened when I heard Harry was to be the recipient. ESPN either needs to rescind it, or Harry needs to do the honorable thing (which we all know he won’t) and decline to accept it. An award that EVERYONE knows is undeserved & possibly obtained questionably, is meaningless. Mrs Tillman, we are very sorry for your loss, and for the crass disrespect being exhibited in the decision to give Harry this award. AND-I’m very tired of hearing “Harry started the Invictus Games”. Harry AND WILLIAM started them & I believe only William has given them any financial support, while Mr & Mrs Harry seem to be draining the charity dry. Just my piece.

Sadly I think he's tone deaf & will regardless go along to accept it. It sounds very much like their PR team have been greasing palms because Serena Williams is a client of theirs too. If it's not rescinded anyone attending the event should stand , boo & leave the arena when he is announced as a recipient. If they won't take notice of an online protest then a physical but peaceful one may make them more aware of their inappropriate choice.

Th truth is Sir Keith Mills (London Olympics and Paralympics) led the project that created Invictus. Along with his staff, there was an MOD team and a Palace team from the Royal Foundatio led by William and Catherine POW. Harry's only contribution was to pass along veterans request for a UK Wounded Warriors. After Invictus was created, Harry was brought in as it's patron.

He's already served our country, and he is not the people's servant. So, using the word betrayal is inappropriate.

@Randomequestrian-pm4hl Any Christian worth their salt will tell you that a marital bond takes precedence over all other familial relationships. It seems apparent to me that a lot of Harry's comments subsequent to departure from Royal duties stem from friction caused by Harry and Megan's decision to step down and move to the US. Their actions thereafter are likely in response to how the situation developed at that time. One needs to remember that God is the ultimate authority. And, that you, an individual, should judge a person only to the extent that you have personal investments in or interactions with them.

Yes, absolutely. But even if he had - Invictus is not about him, it's about the veterans. His role is to promote them, not the other way around. He should not be accepting credit for using his status to help them, it should be something he requires and expects no recognition for - that is what charity is.

I’m an American who signed the petition. Aside from the fact that I believe Harry has actively disrespected his own own country, his own uniform and his fellow soldiers, I do not believe he is singly responsible for Invictus. First, he copied an existing American program. Second, he thought it was a great idea but how much action did he himself take to make it happen? Third when he did help to establish Invictus he was only ever the patron and Royal patronages are about acting as attention grabbers for the event. In recent years is using the event as an attention grabber for himself and his wife. How much has Invictus had to pay for him to be the face of Invictus as if Invictus has unlimited coffers. Do I think Mary should have been consulted? Only if she has always been consulted. But the onus is on ESPN to be very careful that an award of this magnitude goes to the appropriate person. Well, we can throw around the word hero to describe a great many people. Everyone will agree Pat Tillman walked the walk. While I admit that there are probably not many, who truly deserve this award, there are probably not many who deserve it less than Prince Harry.

As an American, I am totally disgusted with Mr. Todger buying awards for which he is not qualified. He isn't even a US citizen. ESPN should be boycotted, and the award given to an AMERICAN who has honorably served their country, didn't publicly smear their family, and has actually accomplished something noteworthy.

Forgive me I'm not familiar with the gentleman, the network or the award so I'm not sure how it works. Henry did two 'tours of duty'...the first one, Granny pulled him out for his own safety, because the Press got hold of his location in Iraq. The Prince never completed the first tour. Henry threw a tantrum, so the Queen allowed him to return with a lot of terms and conditions attached. Henry was to complete his training,however he was to receive 24 hour security in order to ensure his safety.

To clarify - it was set up in partnership with the MoD, and established by the Royal Foundation - which, at that time was William, Catherine and Hapless. The first Games were enabled by money from the foundation, which derived from William's pocket.
