The only times I felt it got a little warm were while it was charging. Otherwise the Snapdragon 660 does a great job of not putting out too much heat.

Abhishek Singh Yeah this is definitely not a gaming phone. Basic Gameboy emulators could work well but otherwise it's not great for that.

I've watched many key2 reviews. You are the first one to talk about call quality and the phone aspect of it. Nice job! It's a phone. I hope they lower the price because I really want this phone. $650 is a hard pill to swallow though. Thank you for probably the best review yet.

I'm all in for seeing something that stands out from others, and I think Blackberry have implemented a lot of great features that help speed up work. This phone is for people that talk a lot and send a lot of messages and emails, not for games or video, basically what a phone is for at the core.

Yes, getting use to a physical keyboard takes some time but once you have it it is like riding a bicycle. You can type with an assurance and a confidence. This is the true essence of a BlackBerry with now all the built in features that make productivity and convenience part of the experience. Good review!

Finally a device that is different! That keyboard is a game changer with those shortcuts and now that speed key...this is Boost for my multiple emails and social media plus 7 hours on screen time! wow! and that camera on a BlackBerry! I'm definitely back to Black' . good video

The keyboard is the sole reason blackberry have a chance to survive in the market, because if they want to compete in full touchscreen phones field, that's close to impossible, they are way behind

I wish they would have made it "bezelless" Imagine how cool it would look if it was just all screen with a keyboard on the bottom. If it was that I would seriously consider buying it but without that it’s just an old fashion phone. Edit: you could slide up to reveal the physical keyboard and down to reveal the selfie camera.

Congrats on the edit in this video. It feels like a detective movie of some sort and I love it. That being said, Blackberry could interest me if they were willing to make a compromise like they did with the Priv. I'm not willing to sacrifice my 5.5 inches screen. Maybe we'll get a Priv 2 one day?

Great looking device. Not sure how I'd fair with using a physical keyboard in this day and age. Last time I used a keyboard was on a Sidekick! 😅

use the productivity tab and find it helpful but I use the convenience key exclusively for the phone launcher. Rarely experience pocket dials and it is ready to go at any moment. I don't even have to look at the screen or keyboard to launch the phone. Perfect.

Love everything aboit this phone, I could not care less about the shortcomings people list of this device. Biggest problem is, I simply cant bring myself to buy a phone that is over $300 (~$400 CAD)

That indicates one thing: Typing on actual keyboard is still a thing Anyway, you cant compare the quality of the keyboard you can attach on your S8 to the king of keyboard phone Blackberry

To be honest if BBOS has never been so estranged (sorry for my word choice) to apps, phones with physical keyboard would never go old... I mean if BBOS were still supported by as many apps as Android and iOs do, Blackberry (with their physical keyboard devices) would have still been a powerhouse in smartphone market...to me, the only cause of blackberry and their physical keyboard downfall is the lack of support for BBOS, if it didnt happen or Blackberry quickly jumped to Android, they didnt have to hibernate and trust me, people using physical keyboard phones wouldnt be a rare sight as it is today

I would love to see second generation of BlackBerry Priv tbh. With that sliding keyboard and bigger screen. Oh and down facing headphone jack. I have lg g6 and I hate placement of headphone jack in there.

Low light performance is not so good, that is true. Unless you switch to manual mode, that puts your photos closer to other flagships. I tried to make photos of a chapel in the night. Automatic mode gives really strange, even bad photos. Manual mode gives reasonable photos when i stabilised my hands on an edge of a bench.

there are several things that don't add up: - physical keyboard, but software buttons... why? screen is already little - why don't make it android one since is "almost" stock? (because they don't want to update it) - so much "non-screen" space and only ONE bottom firing speaker? - snapdragon 660, no water resistant, no image stabilization, no wireless charging, no oled... at 650$!

The OnePlus6 does have better internal specs, but don't forget that Key2 is made of different material that is harder to design and manufacture (smart keyboard, the aluminum chase, etc.).

Were you outdoors in direct sunlight when the sensor couldn’t recognize that you were on the phone and accidentally pressing the mute button? That’s happened to me before, even with the iPhone X.

More often at first, but it got better over time. If you're able to use one first I'd highly recommend it. It takes a lot of getting used to.

Proximity sensor issue could be an isolated incident. I’ve seen over a dozen reviews and this is the first I’ve heard of it.

How did you set the convenience key to Google Assistant? Currently on the Keyone, I can only set it to launch Google voice search. Did you have to download an Assistant shortcut or something?

Ive had my KEYone since it was released and have received updates almost every month, quicker and more frequently than family members with Samsung, Motorola etc. Can you explain what you meant by BlackBerry/TCL not being good with updates? Thanks

Ah right, fair enough. KEYone does get Oreo next month, US carriers have announced that, but at the same time if it wasn't for the Key2 having oreo it might not have happened, at least yet.

I'd rather see a phone that was a bit thicker with a flip-out landscape keyboard reminiscent of the HTC Desire Z. But, that was HTC, not Blackberry, and they will probably never make a phone with a physical keyboard ever again.

OP6 having so manying issues... dang like every week a new issue so hesitant on getting the OP6... ugh man the Key2 looks good and retro w/ the OG keypad wonder if a priv 2 coming in the future... was a nice fresh phone but sadly got blown in the wind since didn't catch some steam with the main consumer crowd
