I couldn't imagine a better speech than Miley's. And Joan's a legend. Paul's also one.

Saw Joan Jett many years ago in Dayton Ohio, on one of the hottest days of the year. It was downtown, and the city had tried to make it seem like it was a beach party by trucking in sand and putting it everywhere. My friends and I had made the trek from Cincinnati purely to see Joan. I think the turnout was bigger than they had expected. People were literally passing out because it was so hot. Joan had to stop the show more than once because people were pushing others against the stage, and she handled it beautifully. What was a potential disaster was completely avoided because of her charisma and professionalism. This is one of the stories you don't always hear, and I thought you guys should know. Best of all, the thing I remember most from that day was, at one point in the show she looked directly in to my eyes. It sounds weird, but I promise you it happened. Watch her live performances, you can see her do it all the time. But it happened to me, yeah me, and I'll never forget it.

It was about bloody time. RESPECT to Joan and well done.

I remember in the 70s when I was into kiss,,Aerosmith,Led Zeppelin and buying magazines and then I saw the Runaways & heard them later ,they got so much negative criticism for playing Rock in a male dominated rock band world & I knew they had to break that Glass ceiling and they did! Later in the 80s when Joan was a huge solo artist ,I was so happy that she was so successful and beautiful! She deserves all the accolades ,she paved the way and took a lot of shit for young women to Rock and just be great period!
