I have the same year Grand Cherokee but mine is white so I'll be doing the same thing but with white paint.

Hey buddy I did mine on my jeep compass I found out using adhesion promotor after you prime it makes the shine come out better before you spray it black. Love the video

I was scared of the same thing for the back button , I ended up taping it off and spraying the rest , looks nice with the little silver button tho!

what are you thinking for the side chrome? I have the same Jeep but 2015! And i want to black it out so bad. The chrome drives me insane !

We actually sold it a little bit ago because of the infamous Hemi cam and lifter issue…

@quikSILVER1284 I sold it probably a week after I did this.. it still looked exactly the same but I don’t think it was on there long enough to really tell or not.

Mine didn’t have the removable slots… the slots are on the newer models.

@eddieespinal2546 oh yea mine is a 2 piece grille so the front chrome piece comes off separate from the back. I’m assuming your meaning the back piece is gray on yours. So once you pull off the chrome piece you’ve got full access to paint the back!

No the grill comes grey not chrome on the trailhawks I guess that tells them apart from the others

@@13_islander I ended up selling it a little bit ago. Didn’t have any transmission or transfer case issues but the cam and lifters went bad…

@@ZPTVChannel thanks for replying now I’m a little worried . I just bought it a 2012 jeep Cherokee Laredo . Engine is quiet and the transmission is good .. do you think adding some Lucas oil will prevent these problems?

@13_islander you could try. I think the main problem with these engines is low oiling at idle causing lifter failure. So if they idle for long periods of time they’re probably more prone to these issues. All depending on the mileage you may be in the clear. If it’s under 100,000 then your probably good for a while and if it’s over 150,000 and the engine is quiet more than likely the cam and lifters have been replaced before.
