Yes, he played 1st XV for Higashi Fukuoka High School in Japan before moving to NZ where he was top try-scorer for St Bede's College last year. Amazing talent, could make a real name for himself in the future.

Japan really needs a spot in the tri nations to develop with the 2019 world cup coming up. you could also include the top clubs in their leauge to compete in super rugby to revitalise that dewindling competition

The 2013 pacific cup of nations is now going to include canda, japan, usa, tonga, samoa and fiji

what japanese team needs to do now is playing against stronger teams. I knw it is asian cup series or something but they definitely need experience of playing in the higher level rugby. It doesnt matter whether they win or lose. They need how the top international rugby level is like. Hope they will have a progress until next world cup.

Totally agree... maybe a 4N between USA, Canada, Russian and Japan would be interesting...

Fiji never had a full strength team in 2011.. the team that played pacific nations and the team that played in the world cup, they were both very under strength teams...

there is not way for a rugby team as the Japanese other than start playing in a championship with teams that are in a superior class in order to progress and make the japanese rugby competitive... no matter how big the losses are at the beginning of such an experience.

can the fullback set him up anymore??
@icedbunn8911 жыл бұрын
Well done to him, but I'm more impressed with the fullback creating the tries. I can't believe he's 90kg though....

In the world cup, japans number 10 was a player playing at nottingham in the english championship (2nd divison) that gives you an idea of the ability of japan! No way could they compete in 6nations or tri nations for many years yet

I come from the future. They still aren't quite there yet, but getting damn close.

Also, in the last 4 years, they lost by 90+ to Australia, 70+ to Wales and drawed 12-all to Canada. Sure, they seem ready to face New Zealand, South Africa and Australia competitively. I want the minows to succed (I'm portuguese), but there's just no profit in playing with such a big gap. Bring back the Churchill Cup, with England Saxons, Ireland A, etc. and give japan a yearly run with good opposition, but to think of trinats is ridiculous. Just like comparing 6N standard to 3N standard

Japan don't have the level to play the 3 nations but it would be good to play the pacific 3 nations, Tonga, Fiji, Samoa and Japan, that would be appropriate, i know the other 3 are a bit better but it would be good to japan to grow

A sort of Trans-Pacific 4 Nations, as you suggest sounds like a brilliant idea, as a matter of fact!

against him, a poor defense, just not agressive enough. but the kid has future if e continue to develoment. (that 15 from japan seems a good player)

WHAT?! parralel of italy?? what are you saying, did you even know that Italy won the 2011 6 nations.... they would deff not have a chance to come within 5 points with any of the 6 nations teams let alone winning a game.

It's interesting you think im on drugs, i agree with you Japan would struggle if they went into the tri nations but its a parralel of Italy in the six nations. Hows beating the UAE by 100 points each time good for developement. Its club game has a lot more money coming in increasing its quality and starpower which will in turn increase the ability of Japan's players. The Super rugby format is very weak, how many times have they tried to change it, they need to re engage interest with crowds
@Genex225912 жыл бұрын
I think were diverting from the point. Struggle? Struggle is what Argentina is going to do. Japan would get 100+ scores vs the all blacks. The difference is so big they would benefit nothing from the trinats. Japan cant compete with Argentina, the soon to be bottom feeders of the 4nats. Japan has come a long way, but lets not exagerate. They improved with a series of steps, not crazy leaps out of their depth. BTW, Japan vs Italy, Italy wins most times

my school team played better than UAE when we were in the U16 category

Haha god, 100+ points is just demoralising for the losing team. It would have been better to call the game off at 60.
