The copper roofs need rust colored wash streaking from the fixtures. Take a super soft round brush get it very wet with orange/brown mix and just touch the tip on each bolt on the roof, let it streak down like it would in the rain. Blow on it to keep it from beading up to much and to move it into the cracks and creases that you want it to.

Pls consider making a series of video in which you build a castle.

I love when you do these building videos. I find myself watching them multiple times just so I can pick up all the details. As far as more pieces for your graveyard how about tomestones , open graves or some coffins. Maybe some dungeon tiles for an encounter in a large tome.

Just thinking to something like Garden of Morr by GW. Then in every cemetery you can find a very spooky spot... a very particular tree, a special grave, a maleficient statue... you ask me? A spooky-portal-tree ;)

Very cool set piece! Next time you're working with foamcore (other than the dollar store stuff) and you want to get the paper off, you can hit it with a hair dryer on high for a few minutes; the heat should soften up the glue enough for you to peel the paper off, though depending on the size of the piece and how fast you're working, you may need to apply heat multiple times.

To cut down on how many coats you need on something like your roof, you can do a heavy drybrush of white directly on the black before the green. In general, its a good way to work with the translucency of your colors to accent depth- I use white on black as a standard part of my priming. Because you're layering paints over it, you don't need to worry about going too heavy (for the most part) and it's a great way to bring out fine details in the early stages of painting minis.

I've been on university campuses with copper roofing, and to be fair to your build, when it's been cleaned and maintained, it is exactly that shade of lucid green XD

Very cool build. I saw somebody painting that weathered copper look on a statue and they had base coated in the turquoise and then dry brushed a metallic copper over it - the result looked great, very similar to Citadel’s technical wash which simulates this effect.

A good trick for quickly making even borders (like on the doors and windows) is to take a compass, spaced to the desired border thickness, and follow along the inner edge with one side of the compass. Works great!

Im so grateful for all the supply sites you recommend! Ive ordered some stuff from Green Stuff and cant wait for a bit of extra cash to invest in some detailed windows. I've been playing around using plastic sheet protectors to make stained glass effects but the little cut out frames would help out so much.

I try not to spill a wall of text here, but after watching a few other videos of yours, I must say... The level of your creative work is just stunning. These speed build series are just awesome. It's always great and satisfying to watch others doing great job, especially when creating things. I caught myself watching your videos just for relaxing, have a great time. People like you, DM Scotty and DM G amaze us with your creativity and skillsets. This comment should really appear on all of your channels, but here's where it landed. I just couldn't resist to write this to you; thank you for these awesome content, I'm gradually getting the urge of buying some minis and stuff more and more, although I don't have the opportunity to play these games, I only watch these videos to please my eyes and smile with wonder. :)

I've been doing the same thing with my foamcore- when building base structures I'll leave the paper on because it seems to make the end result much more sturdy. Sometimes I'll just take off the paper from one side if I'm doing any texturing directly on the piece

For a few suggestions. First, if you went with the option of starting with a metallic for the patina look, the best option is to then thin out the patina color with rubbing alcohol and work it in directly over the metallic almost like a wash. It tends to help with leaving a more weathered look to it. Also it gives a slight overrun, which is something you can often see with copper roofs where as the patina is forming, some of it is washed off by rain and stains the stone around it, such as spouts and the like. For a second thing, while not exactly with this build, but if you use the laser cut windows for an actual window rather than the false windows like the mausoleum, the best way to do it is to go for the clear plastic from clam packs. Paint the window frame separately from the rest, same with the plastic (paint it on the back of it if you want it to be painted) then assemble everything together. You get some great glass work. As a major, simple thing that you can do for a graveyard, if you get some of the wide craft sticks, cut the ends off several for headstones and just use hot glue to mount them on complete ones 2-4 per full stick. Mix up some gloop (Paint, white glue/mod podge, and fine sand) and cover the stones, and just glue/sand the full sticks before painting them up and flocking them. They work great to fill up a graveyard without that much effort and can be mass produced with relative ease.

This is a really nice build! I'd say switch to a brown wash (similar to agrax earthshade from GW). I used to use alot of black wash but iv found using brown works just as effectively of not better in a lot of instances

For a piece you only spent 6 or 7 hours on, and not really fond of, you did some top quality work. The verdigris roof turned up exceptionally well I thought. You have a great deal of talent, I would probably spend twice as long on a project like that and come away with a product half as good

I have that disc of assorted gems and have also used it for rivets. Nice job, overall. I agree that your verdigris effect needs a bunch of work, though I think you managed to save it, somewhat.

It looks great, but all the mosoleums i've seen are flat topped with pillars, though the only ones i've seen were either from the 1800s, or games like Daggerfall and Diablo

I have this one old Ral Partha 1990s kit of a dragon flying with dwarves riding it in storage for several yrs now Ive been wanting to do but the armature sucks. They have these very thin wires to hold up the weight of the dragon but once its all put together there is no way in hell the wires will support the weight of both the dragon and dwarves. And itll break the wires plus trying to find a way to hide the wires so they dont look like wires has been difficult. I thought maybe if i cover them in a bunch of cotton so it looks like its flying thru the clouds or something. Or they are being shot at with cannon balls from below the cloud cover and have the cannonballs attached to the wire supports and cotton to cover the wires to show the air stream from the cannon fire. But Im definitely need to do something other than a wire hanger wire holding it up. here is the kit and its in storage right now www.ironwindmetals.com/images/com_hikashop/upload/fantasy/10-462%20RtCWtV.jpg Ive been wanting to finally make this diorama for some time now. You can see that 2 of the 3wires in the picture are already bending and eventually they break under the weight. Ive been thinking of replacing the thin wire with maybe some solid aluminum round stock thats just a lil bit thicker that might support its weight better, but then if its to thick then it might take away from it and make it look like crap. Any suggestions everyone?
