Just like any mainstream games and professional dev, you cater to all mainstream languages audio and subtitles just like the famous American, Polish, Japanese, etc. devs and pubs do. You would not like a foreign game to not represent your countries main languages that are used, no different here. The main languages are: English French German Italian Spanish/Portuguese Japanese Russian Chinese That needs audio and subtitles, nothing less or that game is destined to fail, big time! You can't call yourself a global game dev but only caters to one or two audio languages and subtitled all the rest of the world. That's the case, KEEP THAT GAME OUT OF THE WESTERN WORLD AND ONLY CATER TO ASIAN TERRITORIES. PERIOD!!!! 😏

The source material ain't the problem (Chinese mythology). We have plenty of great source material/deep history to pull form, anywhere in the world. The problem is complacency and the same boring gameplay mechanics. Our current game devs are just downright lazy and don't wanna do the work. They all just want that loot box money. But you can't blame them alone, especially when you have so many mediocre/accept anything gamers. The Japanese have become stagnant and refuse to change, they also don't know how to make a damn game for the PC and the Koreans came on the scene with fresh blood but they just wanna do filthy MMOS all damn day. The Eu DEVS have been steady and innovative but they can only go but so far. And the American devs/publishers are just greedy as fuq. Hopefully the Chinese can bring something exciting to the table. We shall see if it's fluff or substance, soon enough.

They're literally fighting as if the snow doesn't exist. It doesn't slow them down at all. There's no big upkick or chunk splashes. Snow just goes down. No matter what they're stepping on, it doesn't affect their height elevation, their feet and legs just clips through. Have you never walked on snow before?

@@acscw8408 Yo, if you think you can scale UE5 like indefinitely that's not how it works. Just enabling some of the key features has major minimum hardware requirements. This demo will run in real-time only on the best current-gen PC hardware and even then only at 30fps-ish. Hell you can tell by the footage that it ain't the smoothest of rides.

@@acscw8408 I watched "The Coalition" developer note on UE5. These are the guys closest to Epic and have the best knowledge of UE. Basic scenes featuring Nanite & Lumen are really heavy on Series X hardware and they run them in 1080p using the built in upscaling. Meaning even with a 3090, this demo is not gonna run at all normally. Black Myth was developed on UE4. They're just showing you how cool it all looks when using UE5 and thus the highest quality assets. But this is not intended to be playable with current-gen hardware.

Unless I'm wrong, I thought that the devs left their old company because they were tired of Tencent, and yet here they are being sponsored by Epic games, an american company in which Tencent owns majority shares in. I'm sure the final product is going to be really good, but I'm a little worried about that and the prospect of exclusivity. I like to use Steam to buy my games and Epic Games has a history of strongarming developers to launch on their platform exclusively.

So I don't think they would let the greedy Tencent influence their work again. But as for the "prospect of exclusivity", it's hard to say which platform they would choose and partner with to launch their game into the world.

I definitely recommend the book or one of the movies(There are 2 movies in Netflix which are basically a short version of the book first and second arc, basically). The name of the book is Journey to the West.

You may not know. The four famous works of ancient China are very popular in Asia. Total War: Three Kingdoms is derived from The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and now this game is derived from Journey to the West.The other two books are: Outlaws of the Marsh and A Dream of Red Mansions. I'm not sure if my translation is accurate. Friends who know can correct my comments.

Yu, and I would honestly recommend reading an abridged version to anyone who is interested. After the first twenty or so chapters, many of the chapters follow a very repetitive format, which reminded me of the writing of a serialized tv show.

The game has very little actual marketing. Maybe you mean overhype, because most of the "marketing" I've seen it is word of mouth from other people who are hyped about the game, not official news/trailers/etc. Heck, this channel uploaded last video 6 months ago, I wouldn't call that "overmarketing" by any stretch.

They aren't taking to twitter and making ironic meta jokes about the gaming industry. So far all of what we've seen of the game has been nothing but gameplay. Not some heavily scripted hour long intro sequence, but actual nonlinear gameplay from different parts of a playthrough. This game is gonna be awesome because they SHOW you how good the game is going to be rather than TELLING you.
