Nice, I never beaten the game for some odd reasons nor able to unlock the harder secrets. I'm not a big fan of rpg games but I'll put effort beating the remake after 27 yrs 😊

@@thecunninlynguist That's my other concern: that it'll be too easy. I've played so many RPG's that I'm worried that my past experiences will cloud my judgement on this game and leave me with buyer's remorse.

@@ramiking745 If the game seems too easy for you. All you have to do is change the difficulty to Hard in the main menu

@@ramiking745 Go into this looking to have a good time. Enjoy the experience, the charm, the music, etc... Temper your expectations. The new Mario movie is a lot of fun! But I know people who were disappointed with it, wanted more in depth story, tired of the Bowser-kidnapping Peach, etc... But this movie was never going to be a Titanic/Schindlers List. Treat the RPG remake the same way; don't go in expecting God of War/FFVIII. Know you're getting a Mario game with RPG elements, loads of charm, catchy tunes, and the game that cemented Stars as the go-to McMuffin for future Mario games. Enjoy ^.^

Not sure. Save boxes still seem to be in the game but I did notice in the footage where Mario left the house that a “Saving” message popped up, so maybe it’s a combo of both.

I got the Super Suit in my last playthrough, but it was a pain in the ass. I’m sure it’ll be virtually mandatory considering the boss rematches look even stronger than Culex, and we’ll surely have either a stronger Culex, a new stronger superboss, or both

@@burra007 I'm predicting that yes, we will still get Culex, he'll still be a 2D sprite challenging the power of the third dimension, but the Final Fantasy music will be replaced with original tracks that resemble the Uematsu "vibe".

@@Dark_Jaguar there’s a picture floating around showing that indeed Culex and his crystals retain their exact sprite. But whatever, I’m wondering if a stronger superboss with appear. New superbosses are a staple in classic FF remakes, and Mario RPG gets a lot of cues from them

@@burra007 "Super boss" is a new one on me. Back when I was a kid they were just called "hidden bosses" and it took a bit of explaining to tell your friends "no really, this one's harder than even the last boss!". Here's what I'd like to see. If you beat ALL the new versions of these bosses and Culex and an enhanced Culex, it triggers Smithy getting a massive upgrade with an additional phase and everything and THAT becomes the new end boss. I wonder if the level cap is getting raised? The stats in Mario RPG were never particularly huge in the first place (which set the stage for making them even smaller in the later Paper and & Luigi series), so there's room for growth if they felt like it. If not... well considering max level still left Culex a challenge, this is going to be TOUGH.

@@Dark_Jaguar as I understand; hidden, optional, or whatever bosses are not exactly the same as superboss. The former are self explanatory, but superbosses are the former, with the addition of being stronger than the final boss
