That's pretty cool. You guys do the bolts for the company I work for. Outstanding stuff.

Big man is spraying himself with that blacknitride, by the end of the shift he's going to be the man of steel.

What is the difference between this and cold bluing?
@pieterveenders9793
@pieterveenders9793 2 жыл бұрын
Cold bluing is mostly just cosmetic though it also adds a little bit of corrosion resistance. Nitriding produces an extremely tough and wear resistant outer layer which is also extremely corrosion resistant.

So if my slide was nitride treated if i port it will it expose the stainless
@fmgpubs

Yup. But there’s no need to port it unless you’re having issues with ejection. Roy

Will black nitride wear off slower than cerakote?
@fmgpubs
@fmgpubs 9 ай бұрын
It’ll never wear. You can’t scratch it with a pocket knife blade. In comparison, Cerakote is very soft. Think of cerakote as a sort of hardened paint, and it wears on corners, cylinder bolt spots, slides, etc. Anyplace it comes into contact with another surface. Roy
