This is my second viewing of this video because I played with it a little one day and wasn't sure that I was doing it right. I am a fan of quick detachable knots for many everyday uses and this is going to help me with some different applications. Thank you for another fine video!

Blackie, Your concept is good, your initial knot you tied next to the "Key" knot is a single overhand knot (wrong knot selection). This knot should be a "Slip Knot". Then when you put your securing loop (running end) it will tighten up and secure your load. The slip knot when tied around a fixed branch this knot is called an "Arbor knot". When used as you are using it, it is called a "Slip knot" (from Knitting). To release your secured bundle you pull the running end to remove the bundle, then pulling the key knot to untie the "Slip knot". Old yacht's men use these knots all the time.

You can add a small stick, or toggle to inside of the loop and pull the loop down tight on it and create a lock similar to the one you made with the end of the rope. 👍👍

Hey Blackie! Great addition to make a useful knot a lot easier and more useful. Bites in the rope are the secret to "quick detach" knots. I will put this into my arsenal of knots! As a suggestion, you may want to make a quick version of this video and put it on the "shorts" side of things. Always love to see how you take ideas and improve on them. Take care!

Blackie, you mentioned using this with a tripod... Does paracord work to hang a pot over a fire? I often wonder if the synthetic cord (paracord or bankline) would melt.

Especially cool if your cordage gets wet and picking apart a wet tight knot with cold wet fingers is a big drag

Would you be so kind as to talk about smokeless in a ruger old army. Perhaps even some shooting? What is this about a few grains of unique? What is this about filling the cylinder with unique? Knowing this information could be important for the SHTF

Slippery Jam Knot, why didn't I think of that ...

So I'm working with a 3' piece of 550 setup with a stopper knot at one end, and a toggle and bowline knot at the other. I turned it into the Canadian jamb knot with slip loop, and low and behold here's this perfect toggle to stick into the pull-away loop inside of the CJK. You're looped CJK gives an upgrade to the 550-zip tie alright, and I'd suggest trying it with the toggle and 550 lengths you may have laying around. Thanks for looking at and adding in those little bits.

have you tried leaving the canadian jam-knot tied, and making it into a larks-head to hold stuff?

well, you got my wheels turning, instead of the quick detach zip tie how bout " reusable ziptie " my wheels are spinnin on not having so much extra cord. For example, put that bite closer to the knot maybe? I don't know but great idea.

Thank you for the great content. I watched your video and you said that one should get a bigger one for layering I wear a medium long with the M-65 and it has plenty of room underneath even with a sweatshirt. I guess I need to add the liner to really test the layering abilityof the M-65. Will you do anymore videos on cold weather clothing/gear since its almost Winter?

Blackie, occasionally when you're showing knots and various other thing you tend to drop your hands below screen level making it impossible to see parts of what you're actually doing. If you could remember to keep your hands well in camera view when demonstrating knots and other things, it would be most helpful. We can't see what you're actually doing this, making it difficult to know exactly what you're talking about and seeing it actually done. Therefore, we really only get half the needed info.
