Fans of other fandoms were quick to try to suppress what they perceived as a premature rise towards the top. Essentially, detractors felt BlackPink hadn’t paid their dues. Haters called them a cheap version of their predecessor 2NE1 whom YG basically tossed to the side despite years of being among the top groups. Haters were simply determined in trying to place negative labels on BlackPink, hoping those labels would stay long enough to derail their popularity . A few bogus MR removed hater-made videos found themselves heavily circulated on KZfaq supposedly proving that BlackPink can’t sing. Then of course YG took the strategy of using BlackPink more as reality stars and spokespersons to cash in on their popularity. This gave haters more ammo to argue that BP has failed to accomplish much (album sales and awards) compared to other established groups. This has been the rallying cry of all the haters. So being the face of a group, hated by many fandoms, Jennie is an easy target. Any mistakes (real or not) will always be overblown. Two former Kpop stars killed themselves late last year after years of cyber-bullying. If that can’t deter the hate, nothing will.

I do agree Jennie is easily emotional and sensitive and need to be kept an eye on. She gets anxious everytime they get into too crowded spaces, there have been instances of her getting into panic attack. Jennie is generally a caring and kind person. She is the one to probably receive the most hate in blackpink (unfortunately every member has to go through hate) but the hate is really showing on jennie and its growing and growing just because she looks 'cold' or the claims that's shes 'lazy' on stage. There was a time where she wasnt dealing with it well at all and then she got sick- it was all a mess. Even though some hateful kpop fans said themselves that they'll stop the hate for kpop idols because of the recent deaths from other groups, it still goes on and the hate towards jennie grew. jennie's aura, presence, and charisma are just intimidating as much as it is compelling. you either love it or hate it - no in-betweens. unfortunately, those who do hate it are louder. they have gotten to a point where they are unconsciously being obsessed with everything that she does. she has become the most favorite punching bag of the people. her haters are so obsessed that we, her fans, can't even get a damn break. they twist everything she says or does. when she gets both rap and vocal parts or gets a contract with big brands, it is always seen as favoritism. just because she knows how to carry the clothes given to her, it is seen as favoritism as well. when she gets to be in the middle position during a performance or a photoshoot, she gets attacked, slut-shamed, defamed, and harrassed which is really unfair because she's the center. it's sad to see how crazy they are that they paint her as this selfish girl who wants to outshine her members when in reality, this girl has done so much for her members since day 1. she was the one who jisoo leaned to during their trainee days. she was the one who broke the rules for lisa and even mentored her in terms of singing. she was the first one who approached chaeng when she first came, taught her the basics of dancing, and became someone who chaeng would go to when she needed advice. it's heartbreaking that people overlook everything she has done for the group because of blind hate.
