Recently, Blackpink played at Coachella where they continued to break records as the first ever female K-pop stars to take to the stage.
They were even spotted by Will Smith when they were ‘K-pop trainees’ in Korea eight years ago.
The band have worldwide appeal, but this is the first time they’ve played in the UK.
The BBC got exclusive access to L-R Jisoo, Rose, Jennie and Lisa, just before their first gig at Wembley Arena.

BLINK Ot4 Police What do you mean they should have "let" her talk in Korean, the interviewer wasn't even shown talking at all, so you don't know that they said she can't talk in korean, and you don't know that they wouldn't have put eng subs on if she had. If you watch some other interviews with bbc radio 1 for other kpop idols, they have put English subs on when people spoke in korean, but she didn't say anything in korean so there was no point :)🤣

guys, if its korean interviews. Jisoo will lead it and Rosé is the one who is very quiet. It just there are different strengths of the girls, and for this one Rosé excel on it while Jisoo trust her members to do it mostly since she can't express it well but she's trying her best.

yeah but for international fans like me in the UK often the korean ones won't have subtitles in English so this is what we have and we would just love in if we could hear all 4 girls in the interviews getting evenly distributed time to talk. They are a girl group of four people after all, it's not much to ask.

I’m starting to get annoyed with Rosé constant butting in!! I know she was very young when she left home and possibly speaking manners weren’t stressed, but when someone else is speaking she needs to keep that mouth zipped until they’re done!! What’s not clicking? I also know she’s excited to speak English since she doesn’t get to speak it often, but plz there are things one must and mustn’t do, and interrupting people while they’re speaking is something she needs to STOP doing!

H Dude in Korean interviews she barely speaks! I don’t mind her talking more, but I do mind the interruption! That is totally rude, and throws the speaker off and is very offensive to be cut off while you’re trying to make a point! Maybe you share the same speaking manners as her that’s why you don’t think it’s a big deal, but I bet if your parents were speaking and you jumped all over their convo you’ll be told off!! This is what I mean by her leaving home at a young age and not getting the proper training on how and when to speak!

sooyoung When I was in highschool I tend to talk in high cutesy voice because I was generally nervous with people. But when I'm comfortable I will go back to my deep voice. But thts just me. You know it’s a problem when Jisoo, the member that never cries or complains and always shows a happy face actually says that she’s sad and that she would’ve had more fun if she knew English. Stop making Jisoo feel left out. She’s literally being ignored here like all the members in Fifth Harmony ignored Camilla.

Not nearly the same case. FH's member looked like they actually disliked her while here it just seems Jisoo is not as confident to speak in english yet even while she can understand. I mean even Lisa barely talks in english interviews and she learned from way before

Aria Mem Nah. She’s a kpop idol being invited by the west. They should’ve let her talk in Korean and provided subtitles like they do with most of the foreign artists that are invited. Other kpop groups that promote in the west talk in Korean with English speaking members translating for them. But here it’s made out as if she isn’t allowed to talk.

Yeah she’s the most interesting out of the 4 she has a 4D personality, and she’s really good at speaking in public that’s why she was selected to host music shows in Korea and in variety shows she always delivers a ton of fun energy. It’s sad to see her sitting in all these English interviews like a shy girl out of place

She was born in New Zealand and a native Australian. English is likely her first language because she wasn't fluent in Korean when she first arrived in Korea. The funny part was that even Lisa had to correct Rose's word choice at times in the past.

What you guys feeling I'm pretty sure she feel the same. They should definitely set aside 1 or 2 hrs a day for her to work on conversational English so that she can be confident speaking it. In the end it will benefit her personally to be able to speak a few more language and it will have a life long usage well beyond her career.

To the people complaining Jisoo and Lisa did not speak... Jennie and Rose do the International Interviews (because they’re the most fluent in English) Jisoo mainly does the KOREAN interviews Lisa does all the Thai Interviews (she’s fluent in Thai)
