Here is my video featuring the best of Saturday's Airshow at the iconic Blackpool Seaside resort.
This resort is rightly most famous for its' Autumn Illuminations, but has so much more going on throughout the summer season including the airshow which has run from the very early days of airshows to the present day.
Everything I have shot is on this video - warts and all, and all the acts are featured (some more than others).
The show featured the likes of the Eurofighter Typhoon, Chinook helicopter, the Lancaster/Spitfire and Hurricane from the BBMF, Rich Goodwin Jet Pitts Aerobatics, the Calidus Autogyro, the Wing Walkers and many more . . .
I have tried to include some views of the seaside location and the lovely piers that Blackpool has a large amount of! As a result the shots are wider as a whole than my usual style on my dedicated AIRSHOWVISION channel, and less zoomed in.
This show is very typical of shows in the UK these days - with very few overseas participants, but was free to attend and the town was incredibly busy as the country was in a heatwave at the time, and as a result the Blackpool sea front was warm for a change!
My biggest gripe was the fact that it should have started much earlier in the day, then the sun would not have been in everyone's eyes, and the planes would have looked much less silhouetted against the sky. Also it would have allowed us all to spend an afternoon n Blackpool doing other stuff instead of going straight home afterwards.
