What a journey it was to follow this competiton from the very start with the online group stages right into these insane live battles. To all that maintained and created so many stuff for so many battles, adapted them for so many scenarios and executed them with their best form; to them goes all my respect. This is certainly a really important competiton for both of these guys, one that gave the exposure both deserve. Black Roll coming as a big name in the current Italy scene (alongside Rich, JBeat and others) and Maxo as one that just needed a opportunity to show what he's made of. One of the closest finals i've ever seen, and the most surprising is the amount of quality in the rounds they brought here after so many battles; energy was astounishing as well. Maxo had a perfect run, practically flawless, no bad rounds and the finest of the executions. One of the few genuine battlers who i don't feel are annoying to watch and that have a healthy battle spirit maintaining respect and providing a challenge; one you can feel the passion for battling like the best days. Beware, it's a delight to see this guy be recognized as a legend; he is one of the greatest to ever do it. Maxo in 2017 was the one guy to dethrone the great Big Ben which had an unstouppable prime during the 2013-2014 battle era (with that second round in this battle, which was nostalgic to say the least). Maxo was also the guy that at the World Champs 2018 was one of the underdogs which got everyones attention as to how great he sounded. And now he's here, a big name, a champion. I said a lot about his style, rythmical placements, dynamics, style, power, energy, stage presence, complexity, structures and my admiration throughout the battles, so i can just hope he maintains the consistency on the scene, as he, in so little time, got into this champs, GBB and World Champs, leaving a mark at all of them; all rightfully deserved. Definitely in my top 5 favorite beatboxers ever. And big up and respect to Black Roll, his consistency is something to take note for both in routines and energy, that one "Club" routine is such a great one, it's nice that he saved it for the later battles. His style is really outstanding and memorable, and he's also an example of a great battler, beating prime Osis and Pacmax is simply absurd, and later in competitions going toe to toe with Footboxg, Napom and winning against Alem is cemeting this guy as one of the future greats. And, it's obvious, but i'm certain he's gonna evolve even more, i hear a little of Reeps One in his style, more than the well known sounds, but in texture and a really unique technicality, i believe he's gonna reach an unbelievable level with this sound repertoire and complexity when he finds his creative out of the box mentality; he's still gonna bring some amazing stuff, just give it time. Thanks to everyone for this champs, the scene was in the need of a LA Cup sort of European Champs for a good while; it gives refreshing new names a chance to shine and provide great variety for the scene to enjoy.
