I am white, almost 75 year old, a widow, and recently retired from teaching elementary school for 33 years. My family on both sides were poor in this world's richest but my mother's side of the family was rich in believing in the Lord Jesus as Lord and Savior. As a result of that side of my family, I was raised on the Bible, including Bible prophecy. In 1978 at almost 30 years of age, I finally gave my heart and life to the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and my God. Quite literally, when I told the Lord that I could not imagine why He would ever want me but that I sure wanted Him, I was transformed into a new person. It was instant and like Paul wrote, the things I once loved, I now hated and the things I once hated (like the Gospel), I now loved. That was over 44 years ago and I still feel the same way. I am not perfect but I have been forgiven and made a new creature in Christ Jesus. Thank you so much for this video and I just wanted to share with you, my brother in Christ Jesus. 😊

What I noticed is that there wasn't enough emphasis on the word "some" (blacks) or that there's a problem with a sub group of urban teenage blacks (in stated situation). Same can be said of any race and it irks me when whites get blamed by minority groups or other whites. What we're seeing now is another racially inspired political scheme. Everyone knows that non-punishment and coddling is bad for everyone. The teens, the parents, the community, the city, state, etc. Everyone knows except for those who don't want to take responsibility.

Whilst I get your point, the question is are those factors affecting their community negatively as it does affect ours? Why is it our black community more indulgent in those things which destroys us the most and not those who you mentioned are the perpetrators? Causation is not determined by external forces.

@@tawsmith1932 well the people pushing those ills in society promote them generally to others and not for themselves …. But they will be effected in a different way ….. we are constantly hearing about the rise in antisemitism and the reason given for this dislike of Jews is the way they use power with double standards Example : if Jews push multiculturalism and mass immigration in the west while the state of Israel have a strict policy on immigration…. People see the double standard which leads to white people marching in the US saying “ Jews will not replace us “ and this is then called antisemitism . People say historically Jews have been kicked out of various countries over 100 times…. And the reasons / accusations were generally , Usury , blasphemy, and undermining the culture they live among …. Which leads to horrible consequences.

Many people confuse racism with prejudice. For example, bank loan terms based on income or credit, and home values based on neighborhood or community. Some call this racism as it boxes out more of one race. It's a prejudice, The bank wants to lend to a lender that'll likely pay them back, and the expensive community in the suburbs wants neighbors with a certain income that'll most likely protect their investment and afford to upkeep the investment.

I have a HUGE problem with Voddie’s misrepresentation of the parable of the talents (Matt 25:14-30). I would respectfully disagree with the interpretation of this parable in correlating it to the concept of “unbiblical” equity. I don’t claim to be a biblical scholar, but it seems clear to me that that particular parable has nothing to do with any concept of the implementation of equity where it is not warranted. I believe the comment was made that the servants were given talents “according to their abilities” and not in an unmerited manner. The implication is that people shouldn’t be given handouts! This is what I got from the pastor’s exegesis of that parable. In my opinion, this has NOTHING to do with the distribution of material resources. This has EVERYTHING to do with using the gifts God has given you to their fullest-for the sake of the kingdom!! Amen? This passage was not meant to impose a pro-capitalistic ideology onto the pure, non-political gospel of Jesus Christ. I’m surprised and mildly offended at the utter bastardization of the Scripture by a Bible teacher!! Again, feel free to comment and correct me if you disagree!

In simpler form, the one who got less did nothing with it. He would be compared to the “victim” of modern day who points fingers at everyone but themselves for their failures in life. The other two who were given more but not by much, can be compared to the one in the same predicament as the “oppressed” one who got less, but didn’t let that little hold them back from working and producing more. I’m living proof of this. Grew up poor in Los Angeles, Ca. and now blessed by God from dedication and hard work. He honors those who honor Him in all things. James 1:2-4 NASB95 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, [3] knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. [4] And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, ***lacking in nothing.*** Voddie was raised in drug infested South Central, LA in the 70s by a single Buddhist teenage mother. Today, he’s been blessed beyond words. From the one talent, to the many. By God’s grace. Trials of life push us to depend more on Him. Not on ourselves.

@@josiahpulemau6214 Though I agree with everything that you said, I still don’t think the parable given addresses any issue regarding what we earn in the earthly sense. This is about the KINGDOM of God. In the spiritual sense, we earn nothing, and everything that we have was given to us from above (James 1:17)-to quote the book you mentioned 😊. So, even to say that the master gave the talents based on what they deserve is not what the passage was intended to express. These talents belong to the master and always will. If you look at this passage in terms of carnal perspective, then it described a meritorious and capitalistic worldview. If you look at the spiritual application of the parable, Jesus Is referring to spiritual gifts given to us-not by our own hard work, but as the Spirit wills (1 Corinthians12:11). Using the word of God as a political or worldly cudgel does violence to the Scriptures and also to the kingdom of God-which ironically is what this passage is describing!! Blessings ✝️

I think you are absolutely correct in your analysis. It's a misrepresentation of the original intent of the scripture. Like I commented earlier, Voddie is on one extreme of this conversation. But his view is based on his own experiences, just like most of everyone else. But neither extreme is correct, in my opinion. It may be somewhere closer to the middle. Opportunities are there but not without major racial barriers in some cases.

@@rf5521 Word of God cannot be exhausted in a thousand lifetimes let alone 1. There’s so much that a passage in Holy writ could apply to. And can be confirmed by other passages. One that comes to mind that can confirm the angle Voddie took with the parable of the talents, is the parable of the laborers in the vineyard (Matthew 20) in this sense, would the laborer do less, because he was paid the same as the laborer who came late or would he come late next time and expect the same pay as those who showed up earlier for work? Our worldview matters tremendously. Voddies angle was spot on cause in the end to the topic he covered, whether the servant does nothing with his talent or the laborer comes late and gets paid the same upsetting the laborers who came earlier to work, and you can even add your own angle that aligns with the thought of the author in the parable of the talents, does it tie into this scripture: Colossians 3:23 NASB95 Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, And if the question of “how about if a man isn’t given the opportunity another man is given?” Then the answer to “is God sovereign?” may help bring into light what man thinks he should deserve rather than what God may be saying in an opportunity not given. We just don’t hear about the ones who did get the opportunity but instead more of the ones who didn’t get it. And negative news is accepted and spreads much faster than good news. Nature of man. We love our sin. Whether political or not, 2 Peter 1:3 NASB95 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. His word covers all aspects of life because He is Lord over all.

@@josiahpulemau6214 I definitely appreciate your thoughtful comments. I cannot argue with the scriptures that you quoted, as they apply to our lives as a whole as believers. I would, however, present you with the exact opposite application of the parable of the laborers: I see this passage as once again expressing God's sovereignty and man's flawed perception of his own entitlement. Once again, this parable involves a sovereign lord who decides to pay laborers for work that needs to be done. It is his money and he made individual contracts/agreements with each successive worker. At the end of the day, the first worker was offended that he got paid the same amount as the worker that came literally at the eleventh hour. He then made his plea of entitlement to the lord, stating the case that he was treated unfairly because he felt that his degree of labor earned him the right to get paid more than those who labored less. The punchline of the parable comes when the lord rebuked him for his sense of entitlement. He ended his argument by saying, "...isn't it lawful for me to do what I wish WUTH MY OWN THINGS?" This lord of the vineyard made it clear that he could do what he pleases with his own possessions--irrespective of what man thinks he has earned. Again, this is more of a spiritual case than carnal. We, in the flesh, have a tendency to feel that we have earned things--forgetting that God gives us all that we have (James 1:17). The landlord actually exerted what some would call EQUITY, right? He distributed the wealth as he saw fit-- this contradicts the traditional capitalistic paradigm, huh? You see, unlike in the world, in the Kingdom of God, "...the last will be first and the first last." (Matt 20:16).

As a non-American person of "colour", I never like to share my opinions on the African American reality. But Black people in America have a lot of soul-searching to do. They are talented and gifted, strong and charismatic, spiritual and resilient. But over the years, I have watched them lose so much of themselves to many wrong things. Their passionate music has become distorted and dreadful; their idols are messed up characters; money is the new black Jesus, and many would do anything to get it; their leaders are politically selfish, and their families are falling apart. Black people are no longer a nation of people birth out of hardship and have settled for being a culture that many exploit for various validations. But most importantly they have lost sight of God through false teachers and compromised Christianity. Please forgive me if my words offend.

I find this subject difficult for so many reasons. On the one hand the answer is life changing; you must be Born again. Having God's Spirit take residence in a person changes everything. It's difficult to discuss such matters when some are Saved & others are not. In fact it's down right impossible. As a student of American History I still find myself literally Horrorfied when I learn of the autrasities that have been done to Blk. ppl. in this Country; some of the treatment of the past & of today can only be categorized as Evil personified. When one considers the experience Blk. ppl. have had in this Country, which only Blk. ppl. can truly speak on I understand why our situation, socially, economically & particularly in our families is as it is today! Not making any excuses for bad behavior; wrong is wrong, however the field has never been level for Blk's in this Country; everyone knows that! There are murderers and thieves in every Ethnic group in this Nation; no one group has a patent on evil behavior. As I see it the only way to live is to do those things that God is clearly pleased with. That's starts with Repentance & embracing a new life that is foreign to this World. The Life of our Master, our King, our Lord our Savior, the Life of Jesus the Christ; the Father sent him to save whom so ever would come. Let us be mindful Saints, we are in this World, but we are not of it! No need in trying to over discuss things, you must be born again!

Unpopular Opinion: Black ppl are responsible for every single action they take. Not one crime committed by a black person is the fault of any historical injustice or present day racism. Each black has enough agency to be held accountable for any wrongdoing they may do. The idea that black people DO NOT have full agency and control of our actions is an example of REAL racism. It's demeaning and embarrassing. Yet it is constantly propagated. Even by many black people. People need to Stop blaming their parents, racism, the system, school or whatever for their actions: be the one who decides. Every choice is a fork in the road. Completely agree on negative spirit, it is one of the worse traits for someone to have that you have to work with.. When i was in basic training in the Army ppl would be kicked out and deemed unfit for military service..and i didnt understand why..these guys were physically fit.. But its clear it was just them having a negative spirit..they would wine ,mone and complain about everything..they did half-assed jobs because they only wanted to do the bare minimum they didnt have a heart to work.. After my time in the military, what I've learned is probably the single most important attribute when it comes to working with someone is a positive spirit..skillset can be developed But if you have a negative spirit you'll be reluctant to put in the work to develop it.. I've done some horrible jobs.. I've literally crawled through crap the whole day ,done some really bad jobs.. But i can look back on them fondly and know i had a good time and it wasnt so bad because i was sorounded by great guys, dudes who had a positive spirit, who can turn any work into friendly competition

Actually, that's not in Scripture. There's no parable of a servant being hindered. There is a parable of a servant being lazy. With that being said, we don't analyze sin. It is what it is. What will analyzing it accomplish? Our country is full of cities *(San Francisco, Oakland, Chicago, etc.)* that are overrun with crime as a result of liberal policies towards criminal behavior, especially as it pertains to delinquent youth behavior. My response is simply this... Would these proponents of not criminalizing *criminal behavior* have the same soft approach if their child or mother was ruthlessly (Mur- dered) by a group of these delinquents? It's easy to quarterback the game from the comfort of your living room. But perspectives change drastically when you're actually on the field getting hit. Many people with a *"they just need to be understood"* mindset have never experienced being gang (ra- ped) or robbed by out of control youth. Trust me, when that happens to you or your child, trying to "care for" the perpetrator, goes out the window and swift justice runs in thru the front door. Selah

Ok, but you are sitting in a position of privilege when you make comments like this, because most black farmland was taken by eminent domain. You should be grateful that didn't happen to your family instead of turning your nose up at other people. And plenty of people from the deep south care about racism. Stop looking for pick me points from whites and accept the fact that God has blessed YOU to be able to live on the land that your ancestors bought decades ago. That is a rarity. Most former slaves didn't even receive their 40 acres and a mule that was promised to them by the government.

@@CalvinisimIsGarbage I couldn't point out the scripture, pin point at this moment, but forgive my for any inaccuracies, but if a man has killed someone, he'd get the same in return correct? Old Testament... So if you had a child who wasn't of age, do the same, what would the punishment be... A child that might not totally understand the ramifications of his actions... So, how would a parent make sure that they had understanding.... teach them correct. I deal with kids all the time, and the problem is they are not taught and as for your question for me, with a Biblical understanding. So, these kids are under age, your wife is pregnant or someone accidentally cuts their finger, very deep... You go outside and your car is gone, small town your wife is bleeding profusely... Your wife bleeds out and unfortunately dies. In the name of Jesus, I don't wish this on you and yours. But some teens are responsible and the parent(s) could careless or worse, reap benefits from their endeavors. Slap on the wrist? The problem is people have given up their rights to raise their children. And in low income, live with a possession is 9 tenth of the law mentality... Who and what will check em. In some cases, bullets are a solution for some... Then, the parent(s) are crying wrongful death. Well, how about if there was some incentive for the community to come together, help each other raise their children? Responsibility is a good teacher. Incentive in many different ways. 1. Maybe I'd think twice about out of wedlock children 2. If I have a child, I'd be more responsible in guidance 3. Raise a child in the way they should go, so they may not depart from it later. 4. Last but not least, the Bible doesn't connect every dot and thing we do, but a couple of main thoughts. Lean not to your own understanding. And Jesus left us a comforter, the Holyspirit... the barer of All truth. Through Jesus. God gave us a mind to critically think. And that's the problem, the ruler of this world has taken control of what "we" surrendered. 1st Samuels 8, all the way through. Think

I think Vodie’s treatment of that scripture is a bit disingenuous. That scripture refers to a person’s responsibility to share the Gospel. Those who have the best ability should share with many and gather many to Jesus. Those who don’t share because they just want to live right to make it to “heaven” are the wicked servants. Christians should not look to make equality, but those who are less fortunate Christians should drive resources their way. There will be rich and there will be poor. Christians should focus on providing for the poor and less fortunate, that is Biblical. That’s not to say give welfare to those who don’t work, but providing affordable healthcare to those who can’t afford is good.
