@@lucabrasi5070 So far so good Luca. Sonny and Fredo were supposed to join us last night but when they got word it wasn't Italian, they backed out. So far I've done 3 hibachi meals (Steak, Shrimp, Fried Rice and Veggies) and cheese steaks. My family absolutely loved how the hibachi turned out. Griddle is great - took a little bit to get used to how high to set the heat based on what you're cooking. Prep work is also super important so that you're not always yelling for someone to bring you something out to the deck that you forgot.

I bought some of this when I picked up my Blackstone griddle yesterday. I had my doubts but I tried it and it worked amazing. I cooked fried rice for dinner last night and breakfast this morning. I was able to make eggs over medium with no problem whatsoever. It felt like a nonstick pan. I absolutely love my Blackstone griddle. My only regret is I didn’t buy one sooner.

Just bought this griddle the other day, it's the 22 inch black Stone and I bought the black Stone griddle seasoning and cast iron conditioner, which I'm fixing to season it here in just a few minutes. I had watched some videos on the seasoning of the griddle and noticed that most of them put the seasoning/ conditioner on theirs let it smoke and then after it stopped smoking they turned it off let it cool down and did it again. However, itcappears that this guy keeps seasoning it in between the smoke times & when it quits smoking he applies more of seasoning/conditioner, that's what I'm going to do. Happy cooking everyone!

Recommendations when seasoning your Blackstone for the 1st time. Some have been repeated here and some are unique to my experience. Wear a long sleeve shirt and something to protect your hand and eyes from sizzling oil. I'd recommend some sun glasses or goggles. This thing gets extremely hot when you fire it up for 10-15 minutes prior to adding the first application of seasoning oil. The Blackstone brand seasoning oil is more like a paste. When you first drop a spoonful onto the hot surface, that dollop will become a tornado of sizzle on the griddle. Hence the safety recommendations for hands, eyes, arms, etc as sizzling oil could easily reach your eyes. A Tip is to apply the seasoning paste or oil onto the paper towel first, and then apply using tongs. One table spoon did the trick for each application. (I got the 30 inch) This way you can spread it around without the sizzling tornado I described. The reminder is to go thin with each application and don't let the oil pool. I had to change paper towel during application to soak up any pooling oil. I repeated 4X and it came out really nice. Can't wait to start cooking.

I just purchased a Blackstone 22” Adventure Ready kit for our 5th wheel. After washing and thoroughly rinsing the griddle I spent 4 hours applying thin layer after thin layer of avocado oil to all surfaces. Allowing each layer to burn in and stop smoking. I probably put 15-20 layers of oil on it. It is completely black and slick as a babies butt. I love cooking on it, absolutely nothing sticks to it. It’s the perfect size for the 5th wheel.

For those who had the grill turn chalk white over the burners, read on. The first 2 applications went fine with high heat, then over the burners it started turning white, and by the 5th application, I decided to change tactics. I read somewhere in comments on a blog, that someone heard it should be 3/4 heat, but no one answered him. I also wondered when would you ever cook on high heat? So I changed to 3/4 heat and it started to brown again, and everywhere else was still smoking/burning off the oil, so it didn't matter. I then changed to a tick over 1/2 heat, applied 5 more applications, and it is all black now except the far corners where the lid would attach, but it will darken as I use the grill. Remember, you are only "wetting" the grill surface, there should be no puddling. Hope this helps. Btw, I have a 17 inch.

@@AudiRu55 I love it. It does great takes a bit to heat up evenly on any other setting than high but then again with the heavy top I'm not surprised. But it does great. The seasoning is improving every time I cook. One thing to watch out for though is warping if it gets too hot from the research I have done. If you have to clean it with water let it cool just a bit and use hot water that will help deter warping a bit but mine don't seem to need much of that I just scrape mine off and if I do need water I don't use much the. While it's still warm reapply a thin fild of oil it and re cover it. But yeah it works great

Just received our 22" blackstone griddle. Was planning on using AVOCADO OIL. "1) My favorite steps on how to season a new Blackstone Griddle: 1-To season a Blackstone griddle, start by cleaning the metal plate or flat top grill surface with soapy water and a scrub brush. Rinse with hot water and dry with a clean paper towel. 2-Then you need a hot flat top grill surface, preheat the griddle on high heat for 10-15 minutes or so you have a hot griddle surface and have some discoloration across the griddle top." 3-Turn off the heat and let the griddle cool slightly. While the griddle top is still warm, add a thin layer of oil to the surface. "You can use Blackstone Cast Iron Conditioner or flaxseed oil, vegetable oil, canola oil, or avocado oil, or extra virgin olive oil. 4- Use a paper towels to spread the oil evenly across the entire surface of the griddle plate. 5-Turn the heat back on to high and let the griddle heat up until it starts smoking." This is when the fatty acids oxidize at the smoke point of the oil, and it means the oil has bonded to the griddle top. You'll want to repeat this 2-3 times or until you have a nice, even, dark surface across your griddle top. 6-Turn off the heat and let seasoned griddle cool completely. Once it's cool, wipe off any excess oil with a tongs paper towels careful to not burn yourself. You now have a clean Blackstone griddle and you can call yourself an expert on seasoning any other flat top grill. This is what I have read 6-5-24

My 28" griddle wouldn't get hot enough to season all the way to the edges so I used a blow torch to heat the edges until the oil would smoke off and leave a nice black finish! Point the torch slightly under the sides and aim up, slowly working around the whole griddle to get an even finish and properly protect the edges. Flaxseed oil is supposedly the best type of oil to build up the hardest polymer chain finish.

Since dust and dirt love to stick to oily surfaces like my griddle I came up with a solution. I made a grill cover out of the blackstone box the grill came in. A few alterations with a utility knife and it fits perfect over the top of the grill. Yeah I know I could have bought a grill cover but for now this works just fine. No more sawdust with my bacon.

I used pork lard to season, it worked great! Just the lard though, no sodium as well as no nitrates in it. If I would’ve known about the blackstone seasoning I definitely would’ve used that!

I don't know how you made that look so easy! I used Blackstone seasoning and paper towels like you, and it started out just like you showed. Then the paper towel started shredding all over. I tried a wash rag, same thing, burned a hole in it. Anyway, half a jar of seasoning, a couple burnt fingers and some cleanup, and I made it, lol..

Great tutorial and amazing product. Just purchased mine and seasoning as we speak. Getting a perfect color and can't wait to cook on it. I have the 36" with the extra shelves. There's always a (but...) I followed instructions to a T and started my first scoop with BS seasoning. I put it in the middle (Hottest spot) and that spot is colored and seasoned different from the rest of the griddle. Now, it shouldn't make a difference. Though, if I had to do it all over again, I'd start in the middle but at the front where it was not the main hot spot of the griddle. It should cook just fine though. After buying this amazing grill, I don't think I will cook inside ever again...

Just seasoned my 28” 1962. Went over it 4 x after each snoke point was complete. The Blackstone iron griddle seasoning did the trick. However, the very front edge 2” didnt blacken. Potentially due to position of the burners or heat transfer to the very front will take longer. 🤷🏽. Ready to get roll’n with our first meal; maybe fried rice or just the morning E&B.

Just a few things to consider when seasoning that I thought I’d share after just doing mine. I started to season in the afternoon which led into night time so I had to grab a headlamp. The first is if it’s on a uneven surface it will pool on the back and then go down the back side into the catch pan. Something else is that, out of all the videos I watched before doing mine, is everyone uses paper towels to season. One thing I noticed when I started to use the headlamp is i could see all the tiny fibers off of the paper towel going into my season. Idk if anyone else noticed that but it was super obvious with that kind of lighting. I went to grab some big gun patch cleaning squares and used those instead. They are more like a old t shirt than anything else. I managed to get all the fibers off but just something I didn’t want to season into my flat top.

Good think to inform people is to not turn your propane tank fully open. Only need to open the valve 1/4 to 1/2 a turn. In case of fire or emergency, you don't want to have to spend extra time shutting off fuel. One quick turn and fuel is off and can make a huge difference.
