My husband and I were going through some rough times when this song came out. On the verge of divorce I prayed he'd fight for our marriage, I did... But he never did and now 28 years later, divorced, two beautiful kid's together this song brings back memories of pain and loss. Our kid's are all grown up and successful, looking back that's all that ever mattered.

Melissa Santos ::: Funny thing is, a lot of today’s songs use beats and melodies from 70s-90s songs, so a lot of today’s kids who have parents, siblings, shoot, even teachers, will eventually be directed towards the original. Case in point, this song’s melody and beat are used- virtually unchanged- in the song “We Know” by Fifth Harmony (2014-ish). It’s a decent song for a girl group made up of then 16-17 yr olds. I was just a kid when Blackstreet was big, but my cousins were in high school, so when they heard “We Know”, we immediately had to come back to this oldie.
