This hobby is exciting. I had a rotor blade strike the tail boom after the linkage broke , flew it again and it snapped. 😅 Thank you for the video Sir.

This is my first heli and this video helped. Starting to venture out or safe mode and boom right into a disk golf goal thing-ma-jig. Parts are in route, thanks for the help!

Thank you for this video, i couldn’t understand why the tail rotor wires wouldn’t come out of the chassis when I had backed the four screws right off? After seeing your video I removed them completely and the wires came out perfect. Really helped me, with my Blade 230 S V2, thanks!

Thanks JJ. These videos have been clutch. I've had some bumps and brusies with my 230s lol

Very helpful, thanks. I found when pushing them back through the stock boom it worked best to "drop" them through one at a time. The last one needs a little help, but much easier than trying to shove them through together.

You are my saving grace!! I was freaked when thought I’d have to tear it to pieces to replace the boom. Flying in the house last night hit the dining room chair from a over correction and bent the aluminum boom slightly and snapped a blade grip. Managed to bend them boom back super glue the arm and run the blades up to see if I hurt anything else but I didn’t hurt anything else no wobbles or shakes I was more concerned about the main shaft but it prolly takes a good lick to bend that at Least I hope. Regardless I ordered several extra parts the 230s seems to be built very strong and good. But again thank you so much for the vid!!

Put the 3 wires in the end of a length of heat shrink, with the ends staggered. Heat that area of the heat shrink tool causing it to grab the ends of the wires. Feed the other end of the heat shrink into the tail boom until you see it come out the other side of the boom. Pull the heat shrink through along with the cables. Makes it so easy.

I used braided fishing line to pull the 3 wires through. Saved a lot of cussing.

Thanks for another great video on the Blade 230s. I've just spent a few wasted hours trying to remove the tail motor mount from the boom.....thought it was glued on...! Then I turned to your KZfaq vids and realised the mount is held to the boom by a screw.....!! Have you produced a PDF document with pictures on the fantastic help you have provided for us mortals and users of the 230s?

When replacing the tail motor, it's hard as hell to put the tail motor back on the stock tail case, the screws just don't line up, I'm ready to give up and get the microheli tail case.... Is there a trick I'm missing?

Hi I just wondering if you can do a video about how to replace the anti rotation bracket in the blade 230s because I tried to do it but I take out the screws but the bracket don't come out and iam scare to brake it lol thanks

spray little Dawn soap and water in the tail boom before pushing wires through work good for me

I have a 230s smart and bent my tail boom. The one I got from microheli said it's compatible but I am new so I don't know much about this stuff. The one from microheli is slightly longer like 1/2in or a few millimeters. Is this a non starter? Should I send it back and get something else?
@d12bn Жыл бұрын
Send it back. You could put it on and maybe it slides in further making it the same length but not likely

how do you put the battery on your 230s ? (with normal tail room) . I put my battery on a forward position in order to have a correct centering. Am i right??
@JJInvertedProduction8 жыл бұрын
+oi io With a stock battery I added weight to it and move the battery forward about 1/2 inch

Would you recommend getting a CF boom to a rookie? I just had my first crash (about 50 hovers and slight manuevuer flights) let's pretend the extra $9 doesn't matter...
@danten77744 жыл бұрын
i did this upgrade but cant seem to get the frame to tighten down over the cabon fiber tailboom
@d12bn4 жыл бұрын
Maybe try one wrap of electrical tape on the boom

How the f*ucking hell did you remove those 4 screws on the frame? They sit so tight I can`t come up with an metaphor on how tight they are.

Need a good Phillips screwdriver

Sometimes I think we all need our head examined trying to fool with this stuff, it’s like working on a watch and a ridiculous money pit to boot with parts that are essentially made to break and fail, but I guess we’re in the same boat with our love of helis. Thanks for the help but as a teacher I’d advise you not to worry about rushing through any of it and take nothing for granted. Continually talk through it etc as if you’re teaching a class. My boom is bent a little at the back but it doesn’t seem to affect flying. Think I’m holding off until it does. To me you’re letting us watch more than teaching. Cheers.

a Ya I know, people think I’m nuts for fooling with this shit. They’d just as soon throw it in the garbage.

I setup my Combined Channel 5 "Gear/gyro+panic" wrong I think. it flew solid other than a tail oscillation. I'm using the Taranis X9D and setup the momentary switch for Gear channel. Tested it and it seemed like it was working fine with -60/40 and a normal neg position on the momentary. So it sits at -60 then when I hit the momentary the swash jumps to level and positive 10% pitch. I didn't test panic during my first 4 flights so really don't know. I've uploaded a video of my.maiden flights so hop over to my channel and hit the quick links in the description if you want to jump straight to the oscillation. $Gambino$ over on Helifreak suggested to lower my tail gain in the TX just a few numbers...that's when I noticed the -60/40. ...kinda wish I had a Spektrum radio right now but the newest ones weren't available when I got my Taranis.

I also have the CF boom but have a custom CF boom currently.

+RCBound How's it working?
@RCBound8 жыл бұрын
+JJInvertedProduction should work fine but I had some odd flight behavior the first flight with it so I just set it down and haven't flown it since. I'll get back out tomorrow with it. I know now my OrangeRX module accidently got set to 22ms...figured that out as I was setting up my 270CFX.

I also have an arrow shaft I will be using for tail replacements.

+RCBound I did one flight all is good. I wanted it to save weight
@RCBound8 жыл бұрын
+JJInvertedProduction heck ya man, I was flying with a 1 inch shorter than stock boom because I didn't have a spare at the time. so I cut off the damaged end, cut a slit for the wires, reinforced it so it wont collapse on the wires using a plane prop shaft collar. It flew fine until I crashed again and ripped the boom clean off this time haha! decided not to take an other inch off and just made a custom one with some carbon I had around. I was really curious if shortening the tail had much effect and I didn't notice much other than the CG was more proper.

I have a question sir. First of all love all your videos. Very informative. Now the question. When you put the tail boom back into the frame. Is it supposed to lock into place so you know its straight like the tail motor. Or are you supposed to eyeball it? I recently replaced mine. It flies great but i can spin the tail with a little force so i just left it alone and decided to ask you before asking helifreak. By your videos. You obviously know what you're doing.
