Blade and Soul Guide - Tanking Blackwyrm as KFM (Faction Poison Dragon Boss)

Showing the Faction Dragon Boss pattern, how to dodge it and properly tank it as KFM so others won't have issues DPSing it down. To tank this boss you will need immunity on both C and Z (for Z you get immunity on left branch)
Dragon's Attack Pattern:
Stomp (blockable)
Poison (NOT blockable; Q then E it to get back in place, or C, or Z)
Bite (blockable)
Then you SS so it changes to ranged attack pattern, otherwise you will have poison all over the place!
When he's preparing to spit (first ranged attack) use RB dash to quickly get close again. The dragon will once again change to melee attack pattern, but starting all over from Stomp.
The dragon will also do Roar but this attack is timed; if there is no mess up, it will roar for the first time after his second bite. After that, it will roar after every 2nd poison attack before the bite, because technically you start the roar cooldown timer with a ranged attack instead of stomp after the first roar.
The roar's damage can be dodged, but the daze not, you still need to backflip it. Also, only Q/E and SS work, NOT C, this is important to know as DD because you will have them all off cooldown, so don't use C!

The detail that went into this, attack names just before they appeared, the order, and showing on screen are incredibly helpful. This is exactly how guides should be done. Simple to understand but enough detail from the visual and text instructions to know what to look for, when, and how to overcome it. Very well done.

Cerulean in Dochun recently beat Blackwyrm for the first time about a few days ago later on become a daily Blackwyrm farm our tank is a kfm and is mighty amazing at it unless our BELOVED summoners have kitty cat agro on... I made a kfm in hopes of one day tanking. Also my goodness your videos are so well,made also LOVE how you made your character look like Shiro from Dead man wonderland that's so cool.

Shiro, I watched your vid, learned how to tank it and I made my deserved achievement for a title. Btw, it's very simple to tank it solo when no one is around, but all changed when ppl coming ^^ Sometimes i had up to 15 fps and all what can i do was a dodging attacks without any dps to him -_- Thank you man.

for blade dancer basically double tap S to backflip to the full ground AoE then before it spits at you, multislash back to it to fully regen your blue bar then jump back into lightning draw.. there is also pots that make you temporarily immune to its poison and u get those from the nightshade harbor spins i think

Amazing! It looks ridiculously easy when you explain it that way, but (1) it is only because you have mastered the class, (2) you have analysed the boss pattern, and (3) your videos are deliciously well done. This level of "simplicity" demands a Gargantuan amount of work. *bows* BTW your KFM looks badass and sexy with all the armour skins I have seen so far. Any vids with a Yun?

the first thing to teach everyone about is: NO AIRCOMBO IN PVE, PLEASE. (At this patch it's absolutely NOT necessary in any dungeon, and only a waste of time and therefore slowing down DPS).

I absolutely loved this video and have used it to successfully teach myself how to near flawlessly tank Blackwyrm numerous times, so thank you so much. My problem now is all these chests. Do you farm keys yourself or do you just AH them? Any luck on finding a rotation for the terrors?

+David Reynolds Terrors are a huge pain I die multiple times during them (mostly Vermillion) but yeah if there's a lot of people killing them in 1-2 min I farm, otherwise I'm considering buying keys for 3g each or so.

+김태연 I don't think you can tank this as FM, but you can DPS it easy without worrying of any hits, just make sure you pay attention to his pattern to know when he will Roar, and Q/E or SS it.

+Team Emperium - Tree of Savior thats very strange, i run a 980 ti sli setup there is a massive difference when players are hidden to when they are not, about from 97 fps - 120, so either maybe you will need to upgrade some of your hardware or do some pc maintenance. Because that is obnormal.

Beautiful tutorial, no brainer. I have a question however Why do you need to use E after use Q? Is it to keep the boss from attack other players by making it attack in 1 direction? 2nd question I never got the chance to fight the dragon so I'm not sure Is the boss immune to submission skills like Grapple, Grab, and Force grab?

+Buck Forte Cervant Hi ^^ I use E after Q so the boss doesn't turn at all. When soloing this is pointless, but in a real situation tanking this dragon, you will want it to face the same direction at all times to make it as easy as possible for others to dps and not die. And yes, the dragon is immune to all CC. The other 2 ogres that attack super fast (in the imperial camp) can be CCd and I recommend doing so, because their attacks are simply impossible to react to, you either predict or you get hit... Or, the best way to kill them, zerg and spam CC / grabs on them xD

Shiro ty4quickreply Since it was the beta, I didn't think these boss would yield anything useful, so I never gave it a try. Not only that the lag was immense so I don't think it could be an option at all. Thus I can pretty much guess all other dps stay behind the dragon rather than in front due to his large scale attack, and poison. You must've spec full threat for this, if I'm not wrong since, there's like 40 people gang up on it. I'm sorry if this is not related for your video(I'm new to this channel so idk if you already made a video for this) but in contrary speaking what kind of spec you think best from soul shield enhancement? (the PvP soul shield in Misty Wood) Piercing, crit, or hp? Piercing stat is a bit complex for me, I don't know much. In the game it said Piercing is for how much damage that can hit through defense, but other people said Piercing is for how crit damage you can hit through defense? Do you have a video explaining the stat specifically?

Buck Forte Cervant Pierce negates defense. For example, if you have a pierce value of 10% and enemy has 15% defense, their defense will be reduced to 5%. If you have 20% pierce and enemy has 15% defense, their defense will be 0, and pierce above 15% will be rendered useless in this case. That's why in PvE you should aim for 10%-15% pierce because most bosses have defense at that range. The rest, in PvE always focus on crit and crit damage. And HP + Def as secondary option, but don't sacrifice Crit for defensive stats. In PvP, you will want as much pierce, HP and crit defense as possible. Because players have way more defense, and in pvp you need the HP and crit def to survive.

So class that can generate 100% defense upon using the skill won't take much effect from 20% Piercing? Darn maybe I should go full Piercing then. I was hoping I could build half Piercing and half HP.

+Buck Forte Cervant No, when something increases defense by 100% they mean doubling the defense stat. For example if someone has 1500 defense stat, they will get 3000 with that 100% buff. I don't know exact formula for how the defense stat converts into percentage, for example 1500 is 10% and 3000 is 15% (made up numbers, the actual in game ones are very different). But I know it has diminishing returns and you can never reach 100% because that would mean you are invulnerable to people with no pierce lol

I've been trying to tank this today (thanks to your guide) but the DPS was quite low despite being 10+. it seems like ppl don't have Siren + Diamond Atk Power yet, so I guess i'll wait a few more days. Hopefully this boss won't get another HP buff on the next patch...

I could solo tank this like in the video with practice, but not with the lag because of other people being around. The lag even made me miss a few i-frames when i was dps. Not a cool boss to fight.

Domino You need to do a certain % of its total HP to get loot. You can res with 4 and come back at it fast and damage done won't reset, but do NOT res when it's near dead; if you're not close when it dies, you lose all loot, regardless of damage done.

he she is tanking, aka not doing any dmg at all. problem is the highest dps gets the aggro usually and the 1(block with threat) is not enough if the fms over do their dps

4xHitler KFM is a tank yes, but in this game even tanks are mostly dps. kfm may not do as much damage as some other true dps classes but it's close, and you tank with dps anyway (and a bit extra threat) I have an attack bracelet
