I'm using an Odyssey O-works #7 "Tank" putter and I like it a lot. Good to align, but still I fail for tapping too soft or too hard, and come up short or overshoot in uneven greens. If there's a design that fixes that I'd love to try it.

I thought each putter was designed for big arc, slight arc or straight back and thru. Why was swing style not covered?

I think this is exactly the point he's trying to make. You can look up all you want to try to get a generalization about which handicap and awing style a putter might suit, but to truly understand which putter is good for you and why the answer is simply "get a putter fitting."
