Blair Waldorf is ICONIC on the show but problematic on real life.

Blair was iconic but she put Jenny through so much and was beyond classist the way she looked down on people was horrible and it didn’t change when she got older either, she was constantly bragging about her “breeding and wealth” and the way she acted as though Jenny and Dan didn’t have a right to be in the presence of her always rubbed me the wrong way because there are upper class people who look down upon people like this in the real world and hate anyone who isn’t wealthy or rich

Jennifer Humphrey deserved better.

In the first season everything with Blair totally pulled on my heartstrings because her parents straight screwed her up. All of the parents were trash, and they were like 16. The later seasons? Nah.

Serena was actually nice to people and wasn't judgmental which is funny because her family had more money than Blair's, by the billions but she got to know people for who they are and she made mistakes like everyone else, but she was actually kind. Blair was insecure and envious and those are traits most of the time that don't leave people no matter what age they are

Finally, someone who doesn't give her a pass and discusses how problematic she was and Chuck as well, he was disgusting!!!! idc how much they try to romanticize their t0xic relationship they actually deserved one another. Blair definitely h8ted other women and wanted everyone to bow down to her

Its so crazy how many people admire Blair when they're people that she would definitely bully or ignore. I also never got the "she works hard, Serena gets everything handed to her" defense when Serena was actually nice to people so it made sense that they'd like her and give her more leeway. Blair was always judging or manipulating people so of they didn't respond as favorably to her. And she got things handed to her as well, lets not forget she ended the series working for her mom's fashion brand.

Blair was also homophobic. She was everything a nepo baby from the UES is: preppy, snobby, elitist and stuckup. I love her character, but I’ve always said that I wouldn’t have a friend like her. That’s why she always suffers tragic karma because of her ways. Serena was too nice and always toning herself down to make Blair feel better. When she got with Dan, she didn’t even care. And so on. Nate was actually the worst, predatory himself and worse than Chuck. Serena, Eric and Dorota were the only good people, even when they tried to make Serena a villain, it didn’t work. Oh, wait, the worse is actually Lily, what a despicable character. Justice for Serena!

This is why Serena was always my fav, even though she had her chaotic moments. She was kinder and didn't look down on people who weren't rich like her. I liked Blair in certain areas, ngl sometimes she used to eat up Serena in terms of calling her out on her dating choices. Her classist attitude was repulsive though. She was def not a girls girl either, any girl who was even slightly better she would plot and scheme against. I also always found it funny how she had high standards, but ended up with someone like Chuck😅 Then again maybe because they are both terrible people. Loved Blairs wardrobe though! All things aside Leighton killed this role🙌🏻💞

People with superiority complexes are the absolute worst. I do love Blair though. as you said she made the show, but she reminds me of so many celebrities and elite who get away with the things they do all because they're beautiful and have money it's sickening. - It's people like her who you have to watch out for because they know they hold so much power and abu$3 it

I don't comment I usually just watch and like but this video here is sooo on point. Blair made fun of people who needed financial aid for college, she constantly bad-mouthed people of lower income, she ruined any and every one to get what she wanted and the fact that people say "well she owns it" people own up to doing horrendous things all the time.. so they should somehow get a pass because they owned up to it ?? and while people like to say things like "it's just a character" they're the same people who fell in love with Dahmer and were making videos about him because they thought he was attractive, and some people can't separate the two. just like Ted Bundy.... these people had whole fan clubs a bunch of s-ckos🤬🤬 Now don't get me wrong Blair made this show and without her it would've been boring but I think she needed someone to go up against her like how Alexis had Dominque go against her in Dynasty. Ms Diahann Carroll was not to be played with and that was who Blair needed to knock her down, Jenny wasn't enough, she needed someone who came from wealth and had more than her with double the status. she got EXACTLY what she deserved from Louis, and the funny thing is most of the people who liked Blair are the people Blair would look down upon

I always thought it was weird that Audrey Hepburn was her icon when Audrey was popular for her elegance, her humble attitude and grace towards other people... One would think that Blair would try to imitate her behaviours or at least try to be fake nice to be seen just as charming, but she didnt

season 1 Blair was at her peak because she was a good CHARACTER, and the storyline was interesting. However, after season 1 she completely fell down. Most of the show fell down after season 1 though.

The fact that people love her but yet want celebrities who they find out were mean cancelled is hilarious to me lmaooo. she gave me that she was low key r@c!$t .. people like her who are so focused on wealth which is no issue but looking down on people who aren't wealthy gives "my family had sl@v3s who helped build our wealth and that's all they should be" she even constantly threatened to call immigr@t!on on Dorota

Finally someone says that online! I don't get that fandom and the way people fell for shitty redemption arcs (Chuck is still despicable) and hated on Jenny or even Serena, like, in comparison they are both way friendlier and Jenny has a really interesting character and a talent/passion unlike most of the others

I agree with a lot of your opinions on this first of all I love the thumbnail and whilst Blair was extremely awful and she treated Jenny terribly she wasn’t exactly the main reason for her downfall Jenny nearly getting SA’d by chuck , treated terribly by her dad were big contributors. Blair is a terrible person but so is serena she was just a lot more sociable and friendlier than Blair but she wouldn’t hesitate to stab her friends in the back if she wanted something also my dislike for Blair dating Dan disappeared because serena slept with him the same place she did with Nate to get back at her, release her diaries and filmed it. I completely agree that Blair was a nepo baby I love her character but I don’t get why people are like she was the hardest working person even though she did work hard the majority of her hard work was scheming and plotting and her relationship with chuck is insanely abusive and shouldn’t be glorified bc he’s absolutely awful 🌚

She had not one redeeming quality. yes she dressed nice and was pretty but she was rude, a bully and didn't like anyone who could/would take her shine. The way she treated Jenny was uncalled for and the fact that Dan would date a girl who caused his sister such turmoil says so much about his whiny character lol. Even when in college she still had that classist elitist attitude and thought she deserved more than the people around her like many rich people and their offspring

I had a love / hate relationship with Blair Waldorf. She was very much a major ultra conniving bish. Serena had her issues and was wrong for sleeping with Nate, but Blair was far too insecure in her relationship and friendships to be relatable and trust. She did change Jenny for the worst. And hurt Serena countless times. Least Serena is remorseful.

I always hated Blair! I think people that praise her character are deeply insecure and wish they could be as assertive and nasty as Blair but can’t ! She was extremely jealous of Serena. And her and chuck were a trauma bond

Blair is very obviously a villian, I don't think the show wants people to like her in the way that we would like a protagonist which is why I think that Serena gets so much hate because she is SUPPOSED to be the protagonist but is equally as flawed and problematic as Blair at times. With Jenny leaving the show early there really was no middle ground in later seasons, anyone who stood against Blair, Serena eventually went against as well.

I do believe humans are flawed creature and we all make bad choices and make decisions but there times that she would could after jenny for no reason and it used to piss me off like your already popular, pretty and uber rich why do you need to act like that. Blaire Waldorf is a mean and bad person and she's unapologetic about it from the very start of the series, that plays a big role why people love her and that's the reality of "some" wealthy people esp. ppl who came from old money. 🙂 Emily from "Emily in Paris" was deemed as one of the most annoying main character, she's a bad person but the writers still wants to portray her as good and lovable character and most viewers hate this kind of "serena" kind of two faced character 💀
